Why do Gazelle trackers use tiered rates for buying upload with BP? Lowest tier will be like 4k points for 1GB. Save up 20x as much and it's now only 2.5k per 1GB. I can't see any economic reason for this whatsoever.

How to get an invite to PTH currently inside the #pth-lounge channel on the PTH network.

1. You must have been a user of what.cd with a user class at Elite or higher.
- Seriously, if you weren't elite or higher, you'll need to get in some other way at this time.

2. You must have some kind of proof that you were an elite at what.cd such as:
- Screenshot of your what.cd profile
- Screenshot of your PM inbox showing user class upgrade
- Screenshot of IRC showing your elite vhost from what.cd's network
- Screenshot of elite thread access from browser history

3. If you are in good standing at BTN, PTP, SCC, HDBits or GGn provide links directly to your profiles there
- These can be provided to us in addition to your what.cd elite status proof, you still need that elite proof!
- If you don't have accounts at any of these sites the person performing your proof may accept different sites, but they'll always need to be reputable sites.

4. Make sure all screenshots are hosted at imgur or another simple image host. Do not host on Google Docs, Google Drive, One Live, Dropbox etc

5. Be prepared. Have your screenshots, links to any profiles and your email address for an invite to be sent to ready in a message to be sent to a staff member when they request it.

6. Wait. You must not message any staff member in the channel until they announce that they are accepting peoples proof. If you do not follow the procedure you will either be moved to the back of the queue or be removed from the channel.

How long until PTH is more than just a meme? I searched for albums released this week, a couple of them aren't even there. One actually had a FLAC CD rip, but it only had a 70% log file. Another had a FLAC WEB and a user complained about the tags saying "feat various artists", I would download it and trump it but it wouldn't even get fucking autosnatched so what would be the point? I know rebuilding the what library is an important task but what's the point if we can't even get new music with the same kind of standards?

I remember telling the guy that sent me this invite "but BitTorrent is a memory/cpu hog and makes your PC run like shit" then he told me about uTorrent. I originally met him in a xdcc channel back in '02, I taught him how to DL from the bots.

Sometime in 2006 someone also posted a cheated bitsoup account in some xdcc chat channel and I got hooked on that too. From there I went on to cheat on TorrentLeech. Was on both what and waffles when they started, DB9 multiple times and banned forever there. No longer cheat since I'm not underage anymore and can actually pay for a seedbox now.

you can download as much as you want on karagarga. you get a 2 week leeway for ratio watch. so you effectively get 2 weeks of freeleech before you cant download any more torrents. best thing is to use a seedbox and from there download all the movies to your hard drive because a lot of the most obscure shit isnt seeded (especially foreign films without subtitles) sometimes you have to wait for weeks or months for it to get seeded, and torrents are never deleted for inactivity. so i downloaded most of the brazilian movies to my seedbox (about 1.5tb worth of huehue), got put on ratio watch and after a few months of leaving them on the seedbox i was able to get back out of it.

You might actually have an advantage over seedboxes then depending on where you live. I get cucked by online.net's shitty peering to some other seedbox places sometimes. Oftentimes home users with fast connections give better connections to my seedbox too.

You can bitch about the seedboxes all you want but there's nothing stopping you from setting up autodl on your fat home connection or cross seeding and feeding both seedboxes and home users for days. Maybe start with the latter and move to the former. You need to come up with the strategy that works best for you and take advantage of the situation.
