I use Atom, I'd probably use Visual Studio Code if there was a good Neovim plugin for it.

ST3 is the best. No contest.
Sublime Text 3, literally write half the code for you.
I like VSCode

I'd agree with you except for two things about networked drives.
When a mounted network share or sshfs or whatever becomes unavailable, Sublime does not handle it gracefully. I routinely have to manually kill Sublime and then go make a coffee while init cleans up the zombie, this happens every time my vpn dies, which is regularly.
So Sublime is only reliable as your network connection, it should handle network failure more gracefully by testing before writing on network shares, or just all files.
The second reason, is that they deprecated the "Refresh directory" option from Sublime 1. That used to be a life saver, now all you can do is refresh all folders and wait half an hour for Sublime to get through to the one you want to open. On a slow connection, it might never get there.
I bought a key because I've literally been using it for the last five years of professional work but still, those are serious headaches with it.
Notepad++ is great and really lightweight. There's a portable version you can install on a flash drive.
gedit

I'm using this, what does sublime have over it?

im so sick of vim. The plugins for it fucking suck. Youcompleteme is a total pain to setup and it doesn't even complete all the way. you tab to complete a member function that takes no parameters are it doesn't even write the ending () for you. It also doesn't work with the snippets plugins which also fucking suck btw. building is a pain, syntastic is a pain.
also atom and sublime are good if you are web-dev but not good for c++. also fuck emacs

I fell for basically every meme. Popular shit is popular because most of the time it's good. I need to stop being an edgelord and stick with mainstream society
The one based on fucking node.js
People should just stop

My man
Though I've never even tried sublime, so I may be biased.

I'm never going back to sublime again.

Sublime... I like the IDEA of atom, but it's too slow

You can use sublimetext on good OSs as well

This is the best advice and at least you came to this realization. Most of the time this is 100% correct and you should stick with this. /g/ just loves to be contrarian about absolutely everything.
If muh normies started using Vim you can guarantee /g/ would start talking endless shit about it and go 100% emacs or whatever meme catches on for them.
who loves you and who do you love?!

literally just remap save -> save all and never see that message again.
OR
just pay for it. if it helps you be productive its worth the price for sure.
>>57829906
It's proprietary but it's so good.
I spent a year shilling vim about how minimalistic it is, how Sublime was bloat, but when professor forced me to work in Sublime I saw how good it was.
I just had to type <html> and tab and it would fill everything else up.
I still avoid it but it's pretty good.

Even shit like gedit can do that.

Try harder please
gedit. It has very many plugins but is still very lightweight. it is also very clean and beautiful with support for easy to write external bash or python tools.
