I've been trying out different linux distros (mint, ubuntu, solus meme, currently ubuntu again). It's one thing to be dealing with the terminal and non-obvious stuff, I don't mind as long as there are tutorials online, even though it's cumbersome. But in all of them I've ran through all sorts of problems and stability issues, not to mention little workflow problems because I'm not a hacker and can't customize certain things to my taste without deep knowledge of the terminal. I thought stability was the main advantage of linux, and I don't think I'm going to find it by trying the rest of the 48592487524 distros available out there to see what works best. Meanwhile macs are too fucking expensive and Apple is trying to kill the mac lineup anyways. Do I have an option other than concede to the botnetOS by microsoft? or should I deal with the petty little problems that I'm getting day after day in linux?
Win7 or try gentoo or a debian based distro like bunsenlabs. Lubuntu is also good. Mint is suspect.
Forget about botnet.
It doesn't affect you. It has never affected you.
Just use fucking Window and be comfy. Play games, watch DRM videos, browse faster with Opera and pirate Microsoft Outlook for your emails.
And don't forget to sync your stuff on Google Drive. Free 15GB.

No, the main advantage of Linux is freedom and security.
I haven't been using it for too long but the only problems I've had with Linux Mint so far was screen-tearing and connecting my bluetooth headset, but I got two scripts from the internet to fix both of those issues. What kind of problems are you having, OP? Do you not update your packages after installing a new distro?

I've installed all the distros from zero anyways, since I have a new computer and have all my data on external drives. Problems range from stupid stuff like the UI going weird for no reason to crashes, freezing, programs working sometimes but some other times not, etc. It's not yet to the point that it's game breaking but it bothers me and I'm losing confidence in this thing day by day. Here's hoping that somehow this shit stops, I'm frankly tired of trying distros et al, I've spent years in a stable cycle of no installing new OSes and now this stuff is getting to my head

Debian-based distros are arguably the most stable OSes you can get.
Did you even read the Ubuntu documentation? It seems to me you're just not accustomed to GNU/Linux in general due to using Windows your entire life. In this case, yes you'll spend some time googling stuff to solve the problems you come across, but realize that what you're doing is not fixing an unstable OS, but rather learning how to use it and breaking out of the Windows bad habits and mentality that you've developed over the years.
It won't take much to learn how to maintain Ubuntu though, don't give up just yet. Ubuntu is very reliable and once you understand how it works you'll never want to go back to Winblows.

If you want stability, hmmm I don't know try a stable distro maybe ?
