Why would you use that meme when a better meme is here?
>>
>>57824387
because typing xbps-install -S just to install a package is too long.
That's really poor design.

>>

its only "xbps-install (package name)" you dip

Then apparently the wiki is wrong

go to distrowatch

>>
>>57824387
I'll pick it up again when it includes the development tools that slackware has. Or get a seriously higher amount of packages. There is just too few, and compiling them on anything other than void is a pain in the ass.
>>
>>57824667
>>57826676
>>57826997
What void devs have in mind for users is for users to build their own xbps packages from source and then install them using xbps.

It's great for the unemployed because then they finally get something to do.

Why is a user of a particular distro limited to "what it includes"? You an install almost any Windows program in Windows because it will just install and work, not because "Microsoft included it". What the fuck? Why can't there be a simple unified binary and installer format so that a program can just be installed in whatever distro, rather than being dependent on maintainers to "include it" and be fucked otherwise? Supposedly Linux is about freedom, but in this regard it seems way more limited than even Windows.

when will they get sued by nintendo?
>>
>>57828101
Specialization isn't necessarily limitation.

Debian and Red Hat are the real distros that matter. Everything else is niche market and that's perfectly fine, but you don't NEED anything that Debian and derivatives or Red Hat and derivatives don't provide so don't bother with them except in VMs for play.

This forum is about teens who want rice and to be special snowflakes, but aren't ready to fight with a BSD or something else challenging because Linux distros are so extremely easy to use. This isn't 1999 and there's no work involved to use Linux unless you hunt down some niche distro and kill time to get it sorted out. That's a fine hobby but don't confuse it with serious use.

Because if you really hate systemd for God knows what reason that much you use Slackware instead of that spanish meme distro.
>>

Ok. What about Slackware?

I prefer floating wms. It's just so much more efficient to drag all my windows around manually with my mouse.

what is the difference between Debian and Devuan except the systemd? I mean is Devuan faster on startup and do they have the same amount of packages?

Now migrate to Devuan from Debian to get rid if NSA/systemd. It's easy peasy as well!

Some normal people enjoy freedom too.

Only difference is that Devuan gets rid of systemd. In most practical cases they are the same.
