hopefully Ubuntu grows bigger, and linuxfags make it less command-prompt dependant wich is what really kills the appeal for normalfags besides "how do i open .exe files here"

Prove to me that this isn't just another bullshit, shallow, consumerist thread. What is it that makes an OS good? Why win7? Why SP1? OS's are really interesting from a design perspective and I'm really curious what metrics you use to decide that win7 is the best

It doesn't, there exists plenty of braindead DEs for people who can't do shit without a GUI. (e.g. GNOME 3, KDE Plasma)

This happens on any OS. The difference is on Linux you CAN google it and eventually fix it yourself. Whereas on Windows, good fucking luck trying to solve it, the best you can do is rip out the installation CD and reinstall the OS (and you can take this route on Linux as well if you lack the brain capacity to do a google search and copy paste commands on a terminal).
