Freebsd hasn't been bsd since 4.4 - dragonflybsd is the bsd leader now. plus I trust dillon.

What was the purpose of DragonFlyBSD, again?
>>

Matt got kicked out of FreeBSD and made his own BSD with different features & a badass filesystem

I am about to install BSD on an Rpi3 i just bought yesterday.

Is freebsd witb xfce the best choice for this? I just want to mess around and use it for transferring files and accessing my other servers.
>>
>>57823634
don't bother with a DE if it has a server purpose. but if you must, use LXDE. I'd personally recommend FreeBSD, but it has unconfirmed support last time I checked for Rpi3. be sure to make use of jails for extra security. have a dive into compiling your own kernel too.

Huh, that's it? I mean, I don't know shit about the BSD world, but as far I know:
OpenBSD: OS made for HARDCORE HACKERS with security in mind.
NetBSD: OS that runs on everything, probably even in old as shit microcontrollers.
FreeBSD: OS that is multi-purpose and the most user friendly of the BSD family.
DragonFlyBSD: ????
>>
>>57823852
I guess we can say the same about the 100's of Linux distros.
>>
>>57822412
this

is there any reason emacs doesn't come with info pages in free/dragonflybsd?
>>
>>57823852
Dragonfly is mostly Dillon's playground.

Good ideas come out of it sometimes.
>>
>>57822366

ITT: Cucks favorite OS
>>
>>57823852
DragonFlyBSD was made to run better on multicore systems.
>>
>>57824508
Oh, if so, that's neat. Considering how the majority of OS can use only 4 cores that's a fair purpose.
>>
>>57824429
Enjoy being cucked by systemd
>>
>>57826235

Void Linux uses Runit c:
>>
>>57826624
it has somehow less packages than netbsd

i like it though
>>
>>57826235
there is literally nothing wrong with systemd
>>
