Well washing and cleaning boards to remove flux is different than a motherboard that's installed in a pc. Compressed air works just fine. But while manufacturing most pcbs get thrown in industrial washers, much like dish washers. Air dried, then finished in an oven to make sure it's completely dry.

The biggest issue with washing any pcb is water sensitive components, and rust.

Just got this one from my friend, whose PC was assembled by what appears to have been a gibbon.

Yes the cooler is drawing air off the back-plate and angling it towards the top of the case, where there are no exhausts. This at least partially explains the random shutdowns and 60°C idle temps, though I would be surprised if he even remembered to use thermal paste.

Also if anyone can tell me what the fuck this cooler actually is so I can figure out how to uninstall the fucking thing and put it the right way up, I'd appreciate it.

Damn, had to inspect the picture to check if you're my nephew. I bought him a lenovo z-series laptop for Christmas last year.
