backwards compatibility entails being able to insert, read, and utilize the chosen medium of the game you own, not just being able to download and play it. their removal of UMD support to push something that wasn't interesting enough to sell it and ultimately relegated it to PS4 controller territory ultimately removes the ability for people who have older physical mediums of games to be able to play their shit on newer hardware. This means it has no true form of backwards compatibility.

i got a PSP-1000 not long after they came out
then the 2000 came out, thinner, lighter.. ok, more ram? pretty nice for select homebrew, but the screen was the same
then the 3000 came out, like the 2000, but with a brighter, blur-free display

the blurry motion of the 1000/2000 is the worst part of them by far, in my opinion, i got a 3000 and that's what i've used since
only downside to the 3000 is that it dropped the IR sensor, so that's something to consider
