Idk what Apple is doing but their 2016 glossy is really good in sunlight, plus it's bright as fuck which makes it even better

it's Matte for work/public environments, Glossy for home/private environments

My laptop is matte and no glare is great. My screen is always clean even when people touch it if i'm demonstrating stuff on my it at work.

My desktop at home is glossy because no one is going to touch it but me and i can make sure it's always smudge-less. I also have full control of the lighting where it resides so glare is never a problem

No, it's matte for professionals because they know that glossy glare and light reflections will distract them.

It's glossy for manufacturers who want their products to look shiny in the show room to make them look "special" so that idiots will buy them. Once the idiots take it home, they realize "oh shit, the reflection sucks".

i have a glossy panel and I do prefer matte but it's not the end of the world. i don't compute in the sun, the reflection can be annoying but not annoying enough for me to drop 60 dollars for a matte screen to replace it

My home monitor is glossy, It always gets fucking filthy and its never quite streak-less when I wipe it down, I wish it was just matte.
