Python is to web development what Java is to desktop/app dev

Ruby is C++

Node.js could be C#, but it's different, it's also like JAVA

but PHP is nothing, it's trash, it's shit, thanks to fucking Wordpress we have half of web developers becoming "proficient" on an absolute obsolete language

The good thing is that it allows you to separate shitty web devs from good ones based on what language they work on

Also there is not Good PHP dev, because a good PHP dev is the one that realized he had to change languages

Even Facebook had it's top engineer make a compiler that translates C++ code into PHP, and another compiler that translates PHP into C++ before executing, just because of how obsolete of a language it is


Trust me if you want to become a web Dev that goes beyond wordpress, learn Node.js, assuming you start from front end with javascript going to backend will be smoother, you get asynchronous process backend from the start. If you're really into performance for big backend stuff then go for Ruby, or if there is a good library you need for your project python, but NEVER PHP, you can even go with Java or Asp net, but not PHP
