Is liquid cooling a meme?
>>
AIO is a meme. Liquid cooling is expensive and complicated but powerful way of cooling PC hardware.

Yes and no. Also
>not cutting off the excess of the ties
Whoever this image belongs to is a fucking degenerate
>>
>>57786001
No, but thermodynamics is.

When it uses rigid tubing, it's only for looks.

As performance increase over a closed loop it's not much. If graphics cards unlock their voltage and actually get worthwhile OCes again then it will make water cooling a lot more justifiable. But that hasn't been the case for a long time and it doesn't seem like it'll change.

I've stuck with closed loops for a long time now. When DangerDen went under the prices went a lot higher but the quality not so much. EK is probably the best currently and makes some nice stuff. It's really overpriced for the quality and they force their nickle plated shit on you.

why?
its gonna be depreciated 1 year later

This isn't 2006, there's not even difference anymore between the kits and modular AIOs you can buy.

top fucking kek

Looks like a couple PCIe SSDs below the video cards.

Yes, because you're resorting to increasingly complex methods to solve a problem that never used to exist.

CPUs used to be passively cooled before Intel came and fucked everything up and convinced people that having a machine sat there whirring like a jet engine, or using technology used to cool mining equipment, was acceptable.

>>57786001
sli gpu, cpu, ssd in a 280 rad?

FTFY retard.

Pure water is not a condutor.
>>
>>57787228
Good luck finding 100% pure water, expecially after it's been circulating through the metal water blocks for a while.
>>
>>57787133
Actually all you did was prove my point.

You can increase the speed without producing the heat. You can actually even reduce the heat with proper engineering. E.G. modern ARM CPUs are 10x faster that CPUs of a few decades ago, yet are passively cooled and require anything from 1/10 to 1/100 the power.
>>
Is it possible to build an average pc using liquid cooling only, no fans?
>>
>>57787320
You would need an external radiator box and a few radiators.
>>
>>57787270
>modern ARM CPUs are 10x faster that CPUs of a few decades ago, yet are passively cooled and require anything from 1/10 to 1/100 the power.

They are the process of decades of improved manufacturing and lithographic techniques. Research and progress in those areas wouldn't have been a 100th of what it is now without companies like Intel.

> comparing low power phone socs to desktop processors

The fuck is wrong with you? Go buy yourself an Intel Celeron if you want something passively cooled, it'll way outperform your shitty ARM socs.

You're Dunning-Kruger in action, kys.

Lmao

>Research and progress in those areas wouldn't have been a 100th of what it is now without companies like Intel.

Are you implying that no other chip manufacture had a research and development department? What you're doing is assuming that the only kind of advancement comes from raw power, and not also more efficient usage of less power. If what drove the market (if there even was a market) was who could produce the coolest running processors, that's the line we would have gone down, and likely wouldn't have ended up much different than where we are now. We could have even been better because monopolies rarely stimulate innovation.

And ARM is a desktop processor. Stop trying to sound smart while not knowing that ARM started as part of the Acorn line of desktops.
>>
>>57786001
Non-closed loop in *current year*, yes.
>>
>>57786001
A bit yes. Its never really been worth the cost, risk and complexity.

Just buy a big fucking air cooler instead, much easier.

Also AIO's are literal garbage.

>>57788763
I can never tell if these posts are suppose to some meme or just a retard.
