Only buy laundry machines that have no glass or electronics. It should use a dial.

I would like to thank everyone for posting in this thread have a good night stay safe

What he might have meant is: Side loaders are mostly sold into markets that are aware of product security whereas top loaders are sold into third world countries where safety of the user doesn't matter and isn't checked.

There has been only one combination washer and dryer machine that actually works and isn't that crazy expensive. Midea MFL70-D1211S

Magic Chef 1.6 cu. ft. Top Load Portable Washer
is really fucking great man.

Heres Africa tier technology for a spinner washer and dryer for about free if you can find scraps.

Holy fucking jesus only 1 guy has mentioned Miele??

You literally don't have a washing machine worth owning unless its a Miele. They weigh ~100kg where most others weigh around 40-60kg. Nuff said.

Samsung and LG direct drive's get a pass but anything else is fucking trash that will fuck up your wife's son's laundry and flood your kitchen.

There can be shitty electronics behind that dial but i know exactly what you mean.

More importantly, never buy Ariston/Indesit, they're the type where the fucking drum doesn't have a nice seam with screws and a gasket like pictured here. You can't open the damn things to replace the bearings unless you smash everything with a hammer and buy a new washing machine. If more customers asked to pop the back or top open to check for a bolt-able seam in the middle, companies would think twice before pulling that shit.

I'm sooo looking forward to flying back to Europe next month (currently in the US).
Those fucking toploaders are the worst idea ever. Ruining everything you put into them.
also, what's with the stupid Hot/Warm/cold settings?
Give me real objective temperatures, instead of this subjective crap.
>>
>>57771705
Top loaders are better
>>
>>57771738
No.
They are mechanically simpler, cheaper easier to make cheap and reliable, I give you that, but 200€ saved in a cheaper washing machine is easily offset by the fact that I have to constantly replace 100€ dress shirts that this fucking machine just annihilates.
Also, toploaders don't clean as well, so everything looks dirty and grey.
>>
>>57766886
Genuinely the best.

Bosch are alright on a budget. Better than Hotpoint, which haven't been good in two decades.

Nobody should ever buy Beko.

>>57769759
No, because no-one else makes washing machines as good as they did back in 1993.
>>
>>57763641
Guys, legitimate problem. The water that goes in to my washing machine smells bad like sewage. It almost smells like someone pooed in my washing machine, but my clothes come out fine. What do I do?

For a single person household, you can just get whatever. I have a cheapass Constructa and it works just dandy
>>

You have a little sulfur in your water, and there's bacteria turning it into hydrogen sulfide, probably in the supply hoses. It's harmless.
Well water?
>>
>>57772495
who is that dosh slosher?
>>
Still using an UPO. Who knows what those were, knows. Easily repairable, built like tanks, A+ energy.
>>
>>57772517
>Well water?

Yes, anon and thank you. You sound like you know what you're talking about, so I trust that's what's probably happening. I'd be more concerned if the odor ended up on my clothes, but thankfully it's not that serious.

I've got an old Whirlpool inherited from my parents. It does what it's supposed to do, but I think it's on its last legs.
>>
>>57772631
yeah, it smells bad but dissipates quickly. An aeration treatment system can remove the sulfur (and iron and manganese) from the water but that runs about $2k. Pretty steep for something icky but harmless.
>>
>>57763641
Miele or nothing
>>
>>57769713
It's just another point of error, it's not as big of a deal as having an actual display on your washing machine. Water and electronics do not mix.

Miele, V-Zug and Maytag are the only decent brands left. Everything else will break after the warranty expires and be too expensive to repair.

Some old ass Zanussi from the 90s. Minimum temp is 40C.

Whats wrong with Beko? I have a Beko refrigerator and other than a noisy compressor it works fine. Wont expect it to work for over well over 20 years like the last fridge though.

Absolute crap I had a Samshit front loader can confirm the bearings are shit and went in 3 years no less

Avoid Samshit like the plague unless you like lithium ion burns on your thigh and overpriced oversized doorstops that used to be dishwashers, washing machines and fridges

Is there a decent washer dryer combo machine that isn't modes? I have really tight spacial constraints. Hell the ones forming a tall tower would work.
