My first laptop. Some cheap 15 pounds Asus. Paid for it all by myself and kept it functional for over 7 years via various nigger rig repairs. Final stage included screen from another laptop that didn't fit the lid and had to be held in place via duct tape and powering CPU fan from USB - yes that means having cable connected to USB port leading back inside the body. The "tan" of the first degree burn it gave me is visible even today.

I put two new stickers on my thinpad.

configured a media server for kodi with low overhead and authentication over ssl using apache2. my raspberry pi can play everything in my media library 1080p h264 as long as I have at least a 10mbps connection. it didn't take long but it was my own idea. i can also add torrents to deluge from my phone from anywhere in the world, instantly watch them as soon as they're done on my pi. feels good.

Repaired a flow citometry device when all my co-workers deemed it unsalvageable.
