They were shit. I owned one with an extended warranty, the GPU would fail like clockwork after 9 months.

>the GPU would fail like clockwork after 9 months.
I worked in a bunch of schools where evry teacher had one; not a single failure.
I read that the usual fix was to reflow the BGA solder on the GPU, but that's probably beyond your abilities.

His video doesn't apply to these older chips. The iBook G4 GPUs failed due to flex on the board, due to the cheap as fuck plastic construction. Similar issue to the ThinkPad T40-T42 GPU models.
His video talks about the 2007 and 2011 Macbooks that had the GPU fail because of a relatively new flip-chip GPU design that caused microfractures on the GPU die itself.

That shit he talks about in the video right there I came across yesterday. Someone asked me to fix their Galaxy Note 2 had a broken glass. I have no tools no glue, out of the phones I have fixed I know cheap parts are hit or miss. I told them listen just go buy yourself a new phone, Look at this one (redmi note $139) that phone costs as much as a repair would.
Then she links me this pos part from china for $11 which could be good or a dud and I'd still have to get glue and still have to get a way to seperate the layers, but people want to believe what they want to believe.
