we dont have group assignments although he doesnt disallow us from working together,

i tend to understand it enough i can either do majority of the assignment myself without help, or with Stackover flow/google I can figure out the rest.

There are some parts of the assignment that was just incredibly difficult though-- like you have to consider all of non-trivial edge cases. if i get stuck on one of those and can't figure it out i'll get help from a TA.

Everyone else either has the TA do the assignment for them or copy code from their classmates. These people fail the exams.

I think the exams are really tricky but I'm so far passing them with As. No way I'd be making As on the exam if I went to office hours all the time.
