How are these books? Are they useful to beginner/intermediates?Are they all worth 15$ or is the 8$ tier enough?
>>
>>57731193
The $15 tier books look like they actually contain useful information
>>
>>57731193
The $1 tier could be $15 and it would still be worth it. Just buy them and give the extra $7 to EFF. And yes, the final tier books are also worth getting.
>>
>>57731193

most of the topics in this list don't change much/at all.
... of course that means, in turn, it's also easy to find free information online instead of buying this.

>>57731193
if you buy this you'll probably read halfway through 3 of them and still use google for all your questions as they come up during use.
The shotgun approach doesn't work, buy a book if you have a specific thing you want to learn more about in depth.

You don't "learn 900 pages". You read and absorb the information then come back when needed. Some circlejerkers like to brag about how they are command line gurus when they really aren't. Most of these books are used, ultimately, as reference.

O'Reilly is good. They're one of the only major publishers of technical books.
>>
i have all of these books and they were all downloaded for free .. why are you wasting money?
>>
>>57744408
Because it is a trivial amount of money for a solid collection of DRM free books in multiple file formats. They make downloading them painless and you can use the small amount of money you have to pay to benefit to any charity you want.

I use libgen to regularly download books from kike textbook publishers for free, but in this case $15 is well spent. Also, next time a good bundle like this comes out, it's possible that not all the books are available on libgen/IRC/torrents. So support these bundles while they last, and make sure to upload/seed anything that isn't already freely available.
>>
>>57740093
Except that it does matter. I'm guessing you've never been forced to pay $300+ for a 6 month subscription to a textbook that can only be viewed through a DRM web application. Until kike shit like this stops, I'll happily support publishers that at least compromise with my ideals and offer bundles like this. It's a matter of practicality.
