An enthusiast, at least, within my scope of personal definition, means one that has a concentrated, focused, almost to the point of obsessive interest to [x], x being "tech" in this case. This inherently is not limited to the specific subgroups within the prime key group.

Enthusiast, for me, implies a heavy interest in [x], not just an interest in a component or attribute within [x].
Tech enthusiast implies you are interested in the MANY functions of technology, applications, and etcetera, not just gamer shit as it would be with you.

You're in poverty? Buy a pi, buy components, read guides, try FOSS repositories, learn how to build off them. Try to make your own VR headset with CHEAPER materials. Prototype components are much cheaper than final build components. Sure, you can complain about not getting top tier consumer grade products.
