No Speccy thread so here is one. Helps others find/validate upgrades
I built my desktop back in 2012 and haven't touched it since. Only just now is it starting to become noticeably weaker with newer games.
I'm really only interested with 1080p at this point in my life and along with a much better case (Enthoo Pro) and screen, I'm going to buy a GeForce GTX 1060 6GB - Boost clock 1873 MHz
Is this a good buy for my needs and should I upgrade anything else? I based these decisions mostly off of Logical Increments.
Here is the screen I'm looking at: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UFCVKI4/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
Thanks for any input guys.
Just upgraded some stuff. Going to get a better MOBO asap.
First build, cost about $640, took one of the ssd(s), and the 1tb and 500gb hard drives from my old pc. I might upgrade to 16gb ram someday.

Can you build me a $500 gaming pc?
It would be nice if it could run csgo, gta v and possibly battlefield 1
>go easy
>>57697582
Do it yourself faggot
Pretty much the end of the line for this one. I'm going to invest in a better case (I'm using a cheap Rosewill one now) and a water cooler for the CPU in prep for my next build.
That said, any recommendations for a good ATX-mid tower case facilitates easy install of a radiator?
X tooth-hurty Tea.
pretty comfy desu fa.m

With a mix of used and new parts is possible.

Man I dont know about that i3 but at least he can upgrade it in the future
>>57698869
I originally had a 4350 in the build with a 750Ti. I found a cheap used 8350 on my local CL so I grabbed it, then upgraded to the 1050Ti to give me a nice boost all around for not much cash.
I'm not going to bother with buying a higher end GPU at this point, I'd rather just save up and buy whatever's the best in a year or two when I build an entirely new system.
>>57698934
Moar SSD's and i would upgrade to a gtx 1070 but no need right now.

This one, I ordered from mfactors.com though since it was cheaper at the time, now costs more IIRC.
Works like a charm, though pretty heavily bottle-necked by the CPU in more CPU intensive games.
I also used an old D220P I had lying around to power it, so it's pretty compact.
Overall I'm pretty satisfied amigo, 10/10 would recommend.
One thing I would like to mention is that the Dell power brick fucks up whenever someone turns on/off the lights in the next room, which causes the GPU to momentarily bug out, the system stays operational but you have to reconfigure the screen (extend/duplicate) again and whatever game was running crashes.
So if you really want to avoid frying your card you're better off with the cumbersome, but safe regular PSU, which after testing showed no such jumps.

i have OC'd both the cpu and gpu so hard that there really isn't any need for more performance, all the newest releases deliver comfy 50-60 fps almost maxed out
>>57699009
thats why i said no need to upgrade
>source: I upgraded from a 970 to a 1080
>>57699000
Also if you're wondering about CPU bottlenecks, I'll add this:
Witcher 3 ran at 50~ fps on high.
GTA V ran at 70~ fps on ultra.
Doom ran at 110~fps on ultra.
Benchmarks without the bottleneck are usually around:
Witcher 3, 60, ultra.
GTA V, 110, ultra.
Doom, 120, ultra.

>>57699169
Then why buy the 3570k? If you're not gaymen then there's literally no point in getting a K series CPU.
>>57695291
what is this tinfoil shit lmao. It's so fucking outdated.

Explain why not.

Meh.. it works
Don't fall for the Crossfire meme guys.
I had two RX 480s and it's shit. I'm tempted to return this one too and buy a 1070

>>57699251
If you need CPU horsepower you could have spent your money more wisely and bought an i7 or Xeon instead of buying the K series and an aftermarket cooler to OC it.
If you're not going to OC at all then you could have saved a few bucks and invested them in some other part of your build.

Regarding the supposed scans for illegal/pirated software: the articles all seem to be from August of last year. I've been using Windows 10 and I haven't seen anything that really proves these claims that Windows 10 has the both the capability and the will to do aforesuggested scans.
It seems wildly speculative.
Further, regarding the supposed "forced installations," it seems to only happen to people who don't know how to manage their computer in the first place and that seems rare anyway.

First article from CNN under

Contradicts this statement.
Worst part about ES series CPUs is the lack of correct labeling when using speccy or cpu-z.
It just says Intel Xeon and thats it. annoying af
