Why was this even ever made?

why

Because it's not a server and browsing the internet without a GUI is rather pointless.

screenfetch, arch linux, or your rig?

what arch?

i dunno why it was made, but it's pretty great. run it on my desktop :^)

pacman is pretty great though
>>
>>57690721
Yeah, GNOME is shit.
Use a better DE like Cinnamon or Unity.
>>
>>57691343
I can't go back. Pacman is too good.
>>
>>57691131
Besides login manager, i don't see what's the difference between openbox + wm versus a typical DE given the CPU model (the only downside is maybe additional software that may or may not be used).

bruh. a banana would perform better.

It has 1Gb ram. Just compared to a modern machine -- it is noticeable.

I used it for the longest time as a UniFi controller with debian.

I still don't ever remember this hardware being worth producing. I remember putting some cloud based netbook OS (joliecloud?)on it like 10 years ago and it was still terrible.

32BIT is making it's way out even with linux distros. 64bit has been supported and out long enough to be considered old - and no point in maintainers doing 2 distro versions.

CHeck out my fly ass SSD benchmark.
