Why is my SSD listed as ATA and not SSD? does my motherboard not support SSD?

It's intrinsically an IDE drive with a SATA adapter built into it.
youre running it IDE, and you should be running it as ACHI

how do i do that, I dont have many options for my motherboard BIOS.

Before you go galabanting through your BIOS, changing the settings. You'll need to install the AHCI driver on Windows7. Otherwise once you change, Windows wont boot anymore.

Wait, windows doesn't bundle drivers in the kernel?
>>57688809
I went onto the driver website. Is this the Ahci driver i need to install?

Boot into BIOS and change from IDE to ACHI.

It does, but its disabled by default to avoid errors with older hardware. A countermeasure against normies trying to return or refund their copies of windows because it wouldn't boot right.

There used to be a hotfix for it but I can't find it anymore. Use this guide instead.
