>prebuilt
>shit PSU that will die and kill the rest of the components when it does
>>
>>57684007
>i7-6700
>3.4ghz
there's your reason
>>
>>57684007
Because the garbage-tier chinkshit PSU will explode five minutes into your first gaming session and kill your whole family.

No refunds!
>>
>>57684007
>Videogames
>32gb RAM
>6700
>240 GB SSD

why
>>
>>57684007
Because you'll get shitty mobo, psu, case, cooling and drives

Youre better off building your own, where you can get quality "background parts" like a good mobo, high quality power supply, a good aftermarket cooler, etc
>>
>>57684062
Only a complete spaz wouldn't have a 240GB SSD minimum as a boot and general purpose drive. Using a PC with a mechanical hard drive for anything other than storage is for Pajeets.
>>
>>57684007

... uhhhh why should anyone buy pre-builts
>>
>>57684007
bloatware
>>
I've built all my computer's, I get that, but like here it would be cheaper to buy the prebuilt for sure. This is a legitamate steal of a PC. I'm all for building but like a 1080 is 600$ alone my guys
>>
>>57684282

You haven't built shit because you have no idea what you're on about.
>>
>>57684022
>6700 ($300)
>GTX 1080 ($600)
>32GB (~$120)
>1TB HDD ($50)
>240 GB SSD ($50)
>$40 mobo
>$40 PSU
>$40 case
>$20 mouse/keyboard
~$1260

You can buy yourself bit better at this price, but thats roughly where the price is going to be.
>>
>>57684022

I have never had a PSU die and take components with it. I don't think I have even had a PSU die on me and I bought some pretty budget shit PSUs. Not saying it doesn't happen but it's not a common thing as you suggest.

Only thing wrong with prebuilt is there is usually a premium attached and or has stuff you don't actually want.

If the price for prebuilt is the same and you like all the parts I say go for it. Why do work when you don't need to?
>>
>>57684398
where are you getting 32gb ddr4 for 120$?
>>
>>57684037
>>57684078

Stop saying cheap PSUs break. This shit doesn't happen on the norm if you're not doing something stupid like pulling more current than it's spec'd for.
>>
>>57684282
>>57684310

>1080 GPU
600$

> i7-6700 Processor
300$

>32GB DDR4 Ram
200$

>1TB HDD
50$

>240GB SSD
50$

>Left to buy with remaining 100$
Case, PSU, Mobo, Aftermarket cooler(?), Mouse & Keyboard (?)

Even if you just need a Case, PSU and Mobo, that's still going to be a pretty big stretch. But this also means that those remaining parts in the prebuilt are 100% garbage quality.
>>
>>57684398

Probably worth spending more on the Mobo and psu for peace of mind, when you're dropping 900 on the video and CPU what's a couple hundo extra?
>>
>>57684007
It's pretty fucking ugly, but the specs are pretty good. If you build it yourself you can save $40 in 2 hours, get a prettier case, and add better parts if you want to (maybe the 240GB isn't enough for you).

>>
>>57684531
Its a prebuilt using cheap mobo/psu.

>>57684441
16GB DDR4 can be had for about $60 or so. Double that and its 32GB.
>>
>>57684477
Fuck off, retarded poorfag. Most cheap garbage PSUs can't even deliver the wattage stamped on the chinkrune sticker on the side. They blow up all the fucking time and can potentially take much more expensive components with them. Only a literal retard would pair their expensive new build with a shit tier PSU to save a few bucks.
>>
>>57684477

You remind me of a guy I know, that bought a cheap 700w psu to feed an hd2900.
Fried the thing in 2 days. Bought a 550w xfx afterwards on my recommendation, still kicking.

wut? The fuck you get that shit?

Basic Newegg search gives that. They've been floating at $50-70 for a months.

Just built this. is it shit ? I'm playing Warhammer Total War on ultra which is what i wanted so I'm happy. My first time having my OS on a SSD and i can definitley feel the difference. Will probably be needing to buy another SSD very soon however.
>>
>>57684531

Got a pretty good pc thanks to shit like that.

>have a pretty high end laptop (at the time anyway, 3610qm, gtx670m, 8gb, ssd), don't need portability anymore, decide to sell it to buy a desktop
>have someone interested in trading, and boy is he in a hurry
>i7-4790, gtx760, 16gb, shitton of small harddrives
>oooh-kaaaaay.jpg
>brags about how he keeps building pc's in his spare time, buy parts just because, etc.
>but sometimes things just aren't as fast as he hopes no matter how powerful the parts are, and laptops are easier
>"ok so let's see why it can't be fast-ooooohhh"
>shit board
>shit psu
>so basically the thing was getting power starved (shit power delivery and only 2+1 phases feeding an i7 tend to do that)
>oh and the cheapest case he could find
>do the trade. get a decent board, and slap a spare psu I had laying around
>thing went blazing as fast as it could from then

Now I swapped the psu for a 620w Seasonic, sold the hdd's and got a 500gb ssd, and now it's in a FD Arc Midi R2. To this day he probably still thinks he got the better end of the stick.

I am aware of this however autism stopped me from waiting. Question is do you NEED a Zen to do whatg I'm doing ? (gaming, shitposting, watching movies and cartoons, wanking)
>>
>>57685158
I'd rather have a powerful processor for cpu intensive games instead of a cpu that performs worse than intels cheapest offering
>>
>>57684022
Holy fuck, this happened with my personal build. :/
>>

Depends on how much you spent.

I knew I had a photo laying around. Pic related is the rat's nest I found. If you are a regular on the /guts/ threads, don't open it for your own safety. Sorry about the flash, forgot to turn it off.

>how did this "building pc's all the time for fun" fuckhead screw in those drives?
>>
I got a prebuilt a couple years back it was actually a couple hundred less than if I bought the parts separately. The PSU died in the first week. I got it replaced and the replacement died in the following month. Finally I just bit the bullet and bought a replacement PSU.
>>
>>57685035
If you're happy with it, don't let some shitposter on 4chan bring you down. Just enjoy your system.
>>
>>57684815

Never had a PSU fail on me. Still have the $30 one from a p4 build. Lel
