Pic related is what i currently have standing at home since a few years, i've been getting some blackscreens recently and i cannot use it for work projects anymore.

I work a lot in Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign - recently i've also been learning and working in cinema 4d and after effects, but the computer i got at home cannot handle that so it's time for a much needed upgrade.

I don't have a lot of hardware knowledge so i've been doing some intense reading but im still left with a few questions.

Things to take in mind:
>I use the computer for my work projects in photoshop, illustrator, indesign, after effects and cinema 4d
>i make music in Ableton - im using an external usb audio interface, akai eie pro, which runs all my audio in/out
>i play shitloads of games
>optionally, a firewire/thunderbolt connection on the mobo would be usefull for future audio interface upgrades

So im looking for something that would perform good for work&games and has a fast&secure storage.
Because i am also recording in my room i will need silent cooling, my current case and VC fans are so loud they make recording almost impossible.
Motherboards having stuff like gold plated jacks are kinda useless for me as i use an usb audio interface to run all audio, but something like "USB DAC-UP" (like on GA-Z170X-Gaming G1) would probably be usefull as it would help to minimize the noise.

That being said, im kinda unsure if i want to go with Z170 or X99. And im not sure if buying two gtx1080 right now is a good idea or if i should wait for the 1080ti (i also heard evga fucked up this time on the 1080s).

Here is something i pictured:

>Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 8GB Xtreme Gaming Water cooling Video Card (2-Way SLI)
>G.Skill TridentZ Series 64GB (4 x 16GB) DDR4-3466 Memory
>Samsung 950 PRO 512GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive
>Samsung 850 EVO-Series 1TB 2.5" Solid State Drive
>be quiet! Silent Loop 240 65.5 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler

And one of those CPUs
>Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core LGA1151
>Intel Core i7-6850K 3.6GHz 6-Core Processor 2011-V3

Any advice?

Theres something to think about, what is your current usage of your hardware?
>>
>>57679723
what do you mean exactly?

You definately have a computer, right?

What is your current usage for it.
What do you do? If you just game, you dont need more than 1 GPU and a skylake i7 is plenty with 16GiB ram.

Im OP, it's in the first post.
I need it for work projects (mostly using photoshop, illustrator, indesign - recently also more and more of cinema 4d and after effects).
I also need it for music production in Ableton and playing games.

So yeah, im kind of a heavy computer user but i don't really know much about hardware.

i7-6800K
X99 mobo of your choice.
32GiB (This is the maximum you're going to need until a future upgrade of the system)
A single GTX 1080 or dual RX 480 will feed your need.
Even though i bet you could even manage with a 1060 6GB one.
For a PSU go for a slightly overkill than exactly the right ammount. Gold or Plat efficiency. 700-860W will do you fine as it will allow you more room for future upgrades (as in a second 1080)

I would suggest you go for as new hardware as possible. My rig is a 4790k (4.8GHz) 16GiB ram and a gtx 1080 and my system does everything wonderfully and games run flawlessly in 1080p.
