Base memory on any x86-compatible system is still 640k. Always remember.
>>57673593
I'm doing fine with a 300GB HDD and 4GB RAM shitter, stop hording crap.
>500GB SSD
>5TB of HDD
>still almost out of space
Looks like I'll be ordering some extra drives today.
>>57673593
If you can't do with 640K of memory, you can't do with anything either.
It's all relative. When you think of how large 640k is in the context of an assembly-written OS, combined with software running from memory that was read by an external input, and the files it saves are pure text (that need to be written to an external storage media in most cases), then 640K is plenty.
i dont know how people use up so much space
doing just fine with 60gb
i dont think ive ever even owned anything over 750gb
even my main desktop only has a 120gb ssd

Video games and anime.

>>57676246
help you with what anon?
>>57676045
Because you're a probably poorfag and don't have much interests therefor you don't have the need or space to do so anyways. Last time I had only 60GB was back on XP, adapt nigga.
>>57676246
Nice. I recommend Hard Disk Sentinel with all those WD's.
Isn't this where the iPhone owners usually chime in and say 'I keep it all in the cloud so why would I need more memory?'
>>57673593
>>640K ought to be enough for anybody
That was RAM, not disk space.
He let you have 360K of that.
>>57676344
>Because you're a probably poorfag and don't have much interests
There's a huge amount of interests that don't require hard drive space.
>They didn't buy a 1TB SSD and 8TB HDD

>Using more than 120 gigabytes
I came here to laugh at you.

I have like 11TB and almost out of space. Mostly TV recordings and TV downloads.

No wonder Senpai, your installation folder is about 18GB and WinSxS increases with time, often reaching 30GB.
You only have yourself to blame.
>>57681593
you can shrink it
>>57681593
>>57681638
I droppedmy winsxs folder from like 30 to 12. Could prolly get to 7GB.
>>57681638
>>57681671
That requires effort and knowing what you are doing. I once deleted some duplicate Visual C++ libraries and my applications stopped working.
>>57681689
I'm having windows remove shit in cmd, I'm not manually doing it.
http://www.howtogeek.com/174705/how-to-reduce-the-size-of-your-winsxs-folder-on-windows-7-or-8/
And what remains can be compressed by around 30% with NTFS compress.

>>57681593
Why do you use GUI instead of lsblk? Why do you have so much space allocated to the filesystem? You should shrink it from the default 5%, as that's 25GB of wasted space on top of already default inode space.
>>57676016
that was a good get
>>57681792
I went with default recommended partition size during install. I am still learning minimal install.

But that's integrated in the CPU and not even mapped to anything.
>>57682626
it's just mapped to bios, btw efi systems don't have it anymore

You misunderstand. He keeps his interests in the hdd. No one said he uses all those files.

Try not being such a scrub. Also, you can just reinstall MSVR to fix it, or copy the DLLs next to the application you want to run.
I'm using virtual partition :(
