Had a bad day today anon? No one to spend your thanksgiving with? It's ok, I'm thankful that you bumped my thread.
My father was taught SICP at a community college. One day I went to one of his lectures, and I was so fascinated by what he was talking about that I actually took notes with pen and paper from beginning to end, something no one else bothered to do. My dad was proud of me and bought me a copy of SICP for myself. I was 10 at the time.

Programming is boring.
I learned at around age 15. I got bored during the summer and decided it would be useful.
I was maybe 10 playing Runescape, used to hang out on IRC channels and found out that I can write scripts in mIRC to make my own shitty chat bots

I can't tell if this post is serious, or not..?
Seen a video of how to make a fake virus in an internet explorer icon when I was 9 years old.
>Shutdown -s -t 60 - m "you have a virus1!!!1"
Started vb and batch scripting later that week. Moved to Java about 4 months later trying to make RuneScape private servers. Moved to C# once I entered my first year of highschool (I was a tutor, I was given automatic grades for shop and assisted in teaching + out of school projects with my instructor).
Moved to C++ junior year.
>Just under 21
I stopped programming two years ago. What would have been my first year of college. I currently work for a security company at a hospital working towards my Japanese proficiency cert and attempting to move overseas and start school in Japan.
>Yes, I really started programming when I was 9 years old in 4th grade. I didn't say I was good I said that's when I started.
