Have a Moto X Pure. Pretty decent for a mid range phone, but the battery life on it is garbage. Looking to upgrade away from this. What get /g/? I had two options as to what I would possibly want:
HTC 10 or OnePlus 3t
OnePlus 3T
Root and install a custom kernel like ElementalX or Franco
OP3T BEST 2016 MIDRANGE PHONE
IF TECHNIGGER APPROVES I APPROVE

Moto x play here. The battery is great but it's a downgrade for you. I would go for a oneplus 3t
I can use it all day and get home with atleast 20% battery or more most of the time. Learn to manage memory better or control your screen brightness. The phones specs are still rest considering how old the phone is.

I just got a moto X. I'm not having too bad of a time with battery life. It makes it through an 8-hr shift at work with about 45%-or-so battery through lots of 4chan browsing. Granted, I'm not stressing the hardware at all through games or anything else intensive. Are you on Marshmallow? I heard Marshmallow helped with battery life.
Honestly I wish this thing cost $50 less msrp and had a 1080p screen. Then it would've been a legendary mid-range device.
Your other option is lurk moar and learn how to post on the /spg/ thread.

Not OP, but what can you do with ElementalX? Do you down-clock the CPU in order to get better screen on time?
I bought a Nexus 6P used in great condition. It's great: AMOLED is amazing, buttery smooth on Android 7.1.1., great standby/idle with doze. My only problem with it is when I use the phone. Even with just basic browsing the battery just drains. I don't have any apps that wasn't pre-installed so I don't understand what's going on.
Many times the battery drops by 2%. Who here has one and can you tell me how much battery you have left after about an hour of mild use from 100%? For me, I hit about 88%-90%. Don't know if that's good or not.

no thank you

I am really tempted to buy a Nexus 6P aswell. Did it have the same battery problems with android 6? Could it be a hardware issue or a software issue?
is there anything with amoled, 5.5", front-facing speakers and microsd?

Obviously the moto Z play if battery life is what you want.

Don't know what's causing it. I want to flash Android 6 to see if battery life gets better.

Try going to the Battery optimisation screen and switch the view to "All", then reset all app preferences.
seems to work for some ppl. https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/516ww2/battery_drain_on_android_70_nougat_solved/
