Pretty much the best cross platform IDE for C++. Don't know about visual studio but the C++ support sucked ass in VS2008 at least without plugins.

It doesn't have some more sophisticated functions (I can compare only with Eclipse), but that usually doesn't matter. Generally feels nice to use and has good support for keyboard shortcuts.

You can always find a flaw.
