It almost certainly does. I'm going to research it now, so I may genuinely be wrong, but I'll be surprised if I am.

Sorry to break it to you but your OS won't get you laid and blaming your OS for your social failure is a good indicator that you are a loser.
>>
>>57663177
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, botnet/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, botnet plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning botnet system made useful by the Android gapps, user interface and vital system components comprising a full smartphone OS as defined by POSIX.

I honestly don't know how I activated it, but Ubuntu does have a text-to-speech recognition tool that works very well, and will start reading everything you point at with the mouse. Pretty nice
>>
>>57662745
Cant into adobe

Mom cant use it

Many many hassles like printing for example is not as easy

If you actually use linux as a workstation its crash prone when stability was the original selling point

systemd jew makes everything just as nightmaregoggles as the rest

open source is great for some things but i find a lot of things like wine to be intentionally autistic and unfriendly towards the common person

the thing about linux is youre always finding out about shit it doesn't have because you need a masters in CS with a focus on unix/linux operating systems to be competent enough to configure it properly.

[x] text to speech software
[ ] good text to speech software

>Google’s Text to Speech engine is a little different to Festival and Espeak. Your text is sent to Google’s servers to generate the speech file which is then returned to your Pi and played using mplayer. This means you will need an internet connection for it to work, but the speech quality is superb.

I don't need google to know that "(insert friend name) sucks nigger dicks and is a faggot' and that's pretty much what I have used Text to Speech software for since the mid 90's
>>
>>57663285

Not Linus' fault your cloudware has no port for Desktop Linux distros. I see adobe pajeets have made one for Android though.

>>57663312
do you think I wasn't aware of Google Text to Speech before I started this thread?

like i said in the OP, there is no GOOD text to speech software on Linux.

I have great Text to Speech software on Windows with tons of different voices, regional accents, speed and pitch controls, and it's all synthesized on my actual computer NOT google's

>>57663355
i have espeak, I want good text to speech software with options like Balaboika. I didn't say Linux didn't have "text to speech" i said it doesn't have "good text to speech software". Speed, pitch, multiple voices in both sexes, regional accents etc

let me spell it out for you mr greentext

I am using Linux. I know for a fact there isn't any good text to speech software for Linux because nobody on this autistic forum has linked me to any.

On my windows computer I have Balaboika and multiple voices. Where's the linux equivalent? no websites/apps I mean standalone software that I can use when I want without the internet
>>
>>57663424

except that is literally what I said, I'm not grasping for straws. I'll say it again: Linux doesn't have any good text to speech software

prove me wrong instead of trying to be funny
>>

Adobe will add their suite to Gnu/Linux, just wait.

Le wait meme
>>
>>57663487

it's not good. Balabolka is good. You just haven't enjoyed a real speech synthesis program so you think your google apps or your espeak is good. It's not. I had better text to speech software on Windows 95 than I can get on Linux.
>>
>>57663285
I've needed plenty more configuration printing in any other OS other than Linux/GNU based ones

P.S. OP is a faggot
>>
>>57663493

okay this one looks good. This is what I'm talking about, not some stupid cell phone app.

thanks for the link I will try it
>>
>>57663274
People pirate Windows too...
>>
>>57663285
Don't need Adobe

My mom can, maybe you gave yours an autistic WM instead of a real DE

Printing is really easy, most printers work out of the box

I don't see my workstation crashing, maybe should stop using bleeding software for a workstation, don't you think?

SystemD good/bad argument is relative and it can be avoided, but that's a different discussion

If you are too stupid to use Wine, you can now try the all easy PlayOnLinux

The thing about Linux is you can google "Linux equivalent for X" and learn what the fuck you're talking about before spewing shit cause you can't use something that can be substituted, many times by something better (if not all)
>>
>>57663571

hi op, i more or less think i know what you're on but the next time consider going to the /sqt/ or the /fglt/, being passive agressive to get help will get you at best someone googling for you. Still thanks for creating this thread and helping to bust common myths about linux in the process.
>>
>>57663038
>stability

Linux does not break userspace. I can make system calls directly and be sure my program will work. This is more stability than Windows guarantees.
>>
>>57663689
i know, see >>57663699. That image is useful in this cases, too bad some people feels they're "epic trolling" when they create this threads.
>>
>>57663712

>>57663699

i did google around. Myth isn't busted yet I can't use the cainteoir PPA so I am still googling around

next time go to the /flt/ or the /sqt/, again, being passive agressive will only lead you to get someone to google for you:
https://lmgtfy.com/?q=cainteoir+ppa
enjoy ;)
>>
>>57663727
So I tried it, if you are using any Ubuntu (or Linux distro based on it) after Trusty (I'm using Yakkety), you'll have to manually edit the sources file (either with sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list.d/msclrhd-gmail-ubuntu-cainteoir-yakkety.list or through editing it with the Software & Updates program), and change your distro's name (in my case, Yakkety), to Trusty, so that it tries and looks for an older package. This is very common with packages that are only supported from LTS to LTS. After that, you will be able to do sudo apt update && sudo apt install cainteoir-gtk - I just did it, it works.
>>
>>57663791
Long post is long. If there are extra dependencies problems, you should then download said dependencies manually and install them with dpkg (old packages may disappear from newer distros). But you can search for another TTS program, like https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2173822

The problem I find with Linux is it has so much software everywhere that it can be overwhelming :3
