If the APUs were launching before Summit Ridge I would be.
I'm going to build a Summit Ridge system and throw in an RX 480, or a newer Vega based GPU if they're available.

Raven Ridge will be pretty cool though. 4 Zen cores with SMT, 12 4th gen GCN CU. If it actually has HBM on package then it'll be stellar.

as far as I know, eepcs are now made with core mobile cpus, rebranded as core i3,i5,i7

the only companies I know that still uses AMD is HP, Lenovo, Dell, Acer (APUs only), Asus (APUs only)

I do have a AMD FX 9800p with the 4GB 445m

its decent, run most games in high 1080p, the only problem is that a lot of pirated games dont work because cracks dont work on AMD CPUs

and most AMD FX laptops are fit with shit, like the Dell AMD FX9800, its fit with a pointless touch screen bloating its price to a comparable intel laptop, the HP FX9800 is a convertible one, bloating its price again

anything in 7000 series (fifth generation) is shit

i had an acer fx 7500, it runs a lot of things very slowly (not including acer's horrible build quality)

mostly because the 7000 series ideal performance is at 35w tdp, but the oems lowered the watt to 15w tdp, so while it on paper it looks good, it runs very horribly

the 8000 series (6th generation) is better and the 9000 series (7th generation) is great

I still run my launch FX-8150. The extensiblity in socket AM3+ turned out to be a joke when the only worthwhile upgrades required a new mobo. The 9590 only works on a handful of boards since most mobo makers stopped firmware updates less than a full year after launch.

I can only hope the company fired everyone responsible for the Bulldozer architecture. It was everything wrong with the Pentium 4 without any of the lessons learned.
