I hope it works out for you, Anon.

I hope your entire HDD gets corrupted and the data is unrecoverable.

I hope (you) are wrong

Dude you can't repair bad sector, get a new one, those bad one will expand around drive. HDD is cheap nowadays cost like $50 for a tb

What you should have done is backed up the data then ran badblocks (in destructive mode), from which you could have fed information about the bad sectors to the filesystem itself so it knows to avoid them; because as >>57659457 pointed out, it's physically impossible to repair bad sectors.

Retard.

its stuck like in no moving at all or stuck like in moving slug-slow?

If its not moving at all, you should mark it as a bad block, if its moving sluggishthis kind of failure I had seen it on laptops drives that fell with no G sensors

If its moving slowly, then maybe its a surface problem that its expanding, and it will expand more as you try to force a recovery. In this case I recommend to repartition the disk leaving unused some hundreds of megabytes or a coulple of gigabytes surrounding the point of failure.

Anyway, that disk seems that its beaten up and depending on the SMART status I would fecommend to use it for emergency backups, not for daily use, let alone for a system drive.

There are some block degradation that could be recovered, its severe physical damage that cannot be repaired and those areas are best left alone.

Yeah, drives are "cheap" today but being a poorfag myself for a long time, I rescued many disks that other IT guys looked with a bad eye.

But OP's drive is failing hard, I bet the SMART will report a lot of reallocated sectors and pending sectors

I always like to know what drive do you have that is failing?

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
