Build 9600 is the superior design.

Just werks, nothing special.

A a macOS user, I miss it. Sorting files and navigating your file system is very straightforward. I almost never use tabs in Finder, and window snap in Windows is just so convenient.
Explorer is a damn fine file manager.

the password box is to log on to a network not the computer itself, 9x is a single-user system with later versions only providing an illusion of multiple users that can still fuck with each others shit easily
