>Its summer in my room again
Sadly my RX 470 is not as toasty.
little does OP know the founder edition 1060 and the reference (ie shit cooler) 480 are only 4 degrees apart at load temps
why is amd so much more kawaii than its competitors?
>get snowed in with no way out
>Turn on computer with FX 9590 and 390X and run Furmark
>Room is heated enough for ice to melt off window
>open window and make safe escape
Thank you based AMD

What did he mean by this?
>>57648837
Their CEO managed to poo in the loo.
That's a big achievement
>>57648837
AMD is literally swimming in money RIGHT NOW.
Fx 8320 and msi RX 470. Stays around 65 under load and cpu never breaks 55C
Keep meming, bois
>>57648921
that kind of temp still could make ambient room temp higher.

I can't get my 8320 to be stable at 4.7ghz without 1.58 volts. I must have a shit motherboard.

Just curious as to what an oc i7 will get in multi.

>>57648588
>rx 480 single handedly heats up my room to 18C
I highly doubt it.
>>57648588
>heats up my room to 18C
Yeah, I'm sure those 150W go a long way to heating up a cold room. Try turning on a couple of incandescent light bulbs too, you'll be sweating your ass off at 30C and opening windows to get some fresh air in no time.
>>57648629
Doesn't the 1060 pull less power from the wall than the 480?
You can assume all the energy pulled will be converted to heat in your room.
Load temps don't mean shit how well it heats your room.
A spoon that's constantly 100 degrees celcius won't heat your room quite as well as a 980ti or an OC Fx 8350 with a nice watercooler.
/g/'s understanding of thermodynamics stops at "hot things are hot".
>>57650681
Who are you talking to?

Probably everyone who thinks their gaymeerrr PCs are heating up their rooms during the dead of winter.
>tfw nvidia/intel build
>if it weren't for the A/C i'd be freezing to death
>>57651036
They actually do.
If it pulls 350 watt then it's effectively a 350 watt heater.
Though a PC isn't a very effective heater, and an AMD/AMD PC isn't going to pull that much more than an intel/nvidia.
>>57651103
>If it pulls 350 watt then it's effectively a 350 watt heater.
Yes but unless you are harry potter your room is going to be large enough that the difference is negilible. Remember that most electric heaters are in the kilowatt range.

Cuck.
>>57648588
I think you meant EVGA.
>>57651955
I don't remember.
It gets 1500 singlethread on cpu-z which is more then a stock 5960x iirc
>>57648629
What about at idle? because mine is pretty fucking loud and hot at idle
Also,
>comparing one reference card to another
Shig dig
>nvidia shills already forgot fermi
>>57651965
hot components usually means colder room since the heat isn't being transferred to the air properly
>>57652430
>tfw old enough to remember that nvidia is the original HOUSEFIRE brand
>tfw amd for life
Thank you based Lisa and thank you based Raja for stable drivers and good price/performance ratio.
>>57652452
I still think fermi ran hotter than hawaii. At least hawaii has the benefit of being many, many times denser.
>>57648588
You're a funny guy.
It's winter over here, I need two more of these to really heat up the room.
>>57651103
>If it pulls 350 watt then it's effectively a 350 watt heater.
Uhh, no. Even if that were true, as the other guy said, 350W is nothing for even a small room.
>>57652518
How is your PC so cold, man?
>>57654099
its not an amd
>>57654172
No im serious. Those temps a really good.
>>57648614
You get the same amount of heat in the room with the better cooler, and cooler cpu temp
>>57651955
>Single core matters in 2016
Are Intel fags this delusional?
I have a better heating system, not better in performance though.
>>57649693
Dude I have a 8350 and I can't get it over 4.5 safely.
And I'm running on a Cryorig R1 Ultimate with the fans replaced with Noctua IndustrialPPC 3000RPM 140mm's.
Always fucking fails on core 4, 7, or 8.
Though it is a 3 year old chip and just recently OC'd.
I still love AMD though. 4.5 isn't too bad I guess.
Should I have gone for the 8320? My friend can push his higher than mine maybe.
Just a bad chip? Is my clock fucked?
Rate my heater(s)
The new XFX GTR 480's use around the same power as a GTX 1060 now due to better binning at GloFo.

From a certain batch onwards (which filtered into the market sometime early 2015 iirc) all of the 8 core FX chips are basically the same out of the two 'e' versions for voltage curve and what clocks they will reach.
