Still better than placing fuckhuge panels of solar cells on your roof. If it integrates well with the home and also provides electricity then it is a win-win. Just because it isn't the best shit ever doesn't mean it's useless.

Imagine if this were to be the standard in the next 5-10 years? Then almost all new built homes would be climate compensating atleast, which in turn would lower demand for fossil fuel usage which in return would give us a nice environment.

So I don't really get why you just write them off completely.
