How the FUCK do you do this? I wouldn't be surprised if it was impossible on Verizon. Their bootloader is supposedly locked down completely on Marshmallow.
I've tried the low effort root which may have worked on lollipop, a dirty cow exploit which comments on the article I got it from said was just a proof of concept, and would be trying a V20 set of instructions if not for the fact my bootloader is locked. I've tried going into the Setting Utils activity so I can enable oem unlock but that's gone when I reboot.
Should I give up and accept that I made a shit purchase? I bought it last week for $160 since I had a G2 whose touch screen was malfunctioning towards the top and headphone jack was working intermittently.
The real question is why you essentially bought a smart phone that is on a death timer.

Use the dirty cow exploit - all phones are easily rootable.

Was >$160
not enough of a reason? My G2 has been working pretty great until recently and that shit is 3 years old.

Looking up different ways than the one I initially found. I'm hopeful I can figure this out tonight.
>G4
enjoy eventual unrecoverable bootloop.
>lg phones
>ever
Nigga, literally only a verizon iphone 7 would be worse, and even then that shit doesn't bootloop, it cucks you with an extra 1k worth of dongles and wireless earbuds but it doesn't brick after 3 months of use
Next time go for motorola or xiaomi if you want quality for cheap
All these buttmad manchildren with their chinkphones they got on aliexpress...
G4 from day one, currently on cm14.

Still on G3, replaced battery once, CM14, is amazing.
