The government is already allowed to do that, they just require a permit. This law will just streamline the process of acquiring a permit if they can see that your internet activity is dodgy. And allowing your device to get hacked means that you either use an insecure device or you use a secure device in an insecure way (either way, it's your fault if you get hacked).

Besides, the government doesn't have the resources to search through every single person's internet history. And even if it was possible, they certainly don't have the resources to hack every single person's device either.

no western aggression in the ME, no terrorism (at least anywhere NEAR at the scale it's happening), and no fucking migrant crisis. hell a lot of the countries there had a considerably liberal, western-leaning political climate before all this shit went down.

If this data is a terrorism related word like bomb, plane, hijacking, Parliament and public gather it's sent on to our central security agency who will look over it and deem if it's a threat. There's probably some automatic priority system though.

>>
>>57592854
I wasn't getting at anything really, no ruling party is going to change much in the grand scheme of things with the way our first world societies are set up.

I was more pointing out that in the UK people still have their knickers in a twist over brexit and trump, but no one cares about the surveillance act. I'm working in london with a group of people who are capable of critical thinking, will discuss things very well but when it comes to political issues, it's hard left all the way. Tried to start a discussion on the act recently and it was just shrugged off (probably as we're fuck busy now). But if this is how educated people in our country think, what hope in hell is there of the unwashed masses knowing and caring about this without a huge social and media campaign behind it.
>>
>>57592854

I believe Trump was elected for a number of reasons, including

>hillary was a blatently corrupt politician
>Bernie seemed to be popular with many college students and young people, but it seemed like he got snubbed by hillary, further making her look evil
>hillary didn`t even bother to visit states like Wisconsin because she thought it was a sure win, which backfired.
>Trump, a billionare, had the appearance of being closer to the average American than hillary, who spent a good portion of her life around politics.

I supported big d donny t because he wasn`t hillary, plain and simple.

Yeah.. Because the party that holds the majority of parliament in the UK doesn't need to make concessions when there's a majority within the party itself.

Politics are terrible. They can do anything without substantial justification and that's how terrible laws are made. Which perpetuate terrible laws because they need to fix up the old laws.

Well this site refers to it all as posts or replies. So 'comments' makes less sense. Even if we were to assume they were less thorough they'd probably still call it post as it's called posts on Facebook for instance.

Here on 4chan there's nothing to comment with regards to. Unlike YouTube or other similar sites where it's clearly comments with regards to content.

I understand the scepticism as much as the next guy but it's not completely unfeasible in the UK. They do not have the same free speech protection the US does. You can be charged with hate speech.

We know incredibly little about his actual aims. He can't implement everything he has promised, it's simply impossible. And it's fairly unlikely that he will implement it. He has also made a large amount of uneducated comments regarding world politics. Which I find more disturbing.

But as for surveillance I'm sure he will have the same 'I just play the game' attitude he has always had. The game is just different now that he makes the laws.

So civil rights and especially press freedoms are certainly in danger.

It changed attitudes a great deal. Where the leaders have to fear the population to some degree. If it happens in this day and age, with the relatively good state things are in that extra measure of fear seems good.

But you're right politicians and their families being executed for their failures should be far more common place than I suggested in that comment. Measure for failure is hard to come up with but if people put some thought to it I'm sure they can come up with an appropriately bloody system.

Jesus fucking Christ dude. shut up. Stop pretending everyone who comments on Trump buys the obvious slander campaigns.

I'm saying we (yes we, even you) know very little about his goals because 'make America great again' doesn't exactly speak volumes. He has made many statements he actually backs on or changes. He's not a super consistent person.

But I don't criticise him compared to other politicians here. They're all like that to some degree. If you're expecting 40% tariffs (or whatever it was) on China, a literal wall among the many other things he promised you won't see them delivered in one term.

There will be some form of compromise at the very least. And again. We don't know his motives. He doesn't have a history of altruistic intent exactly.

It's hard to relate to a person who's as rich as Trump because what do you really care for at that point? I would fund research I'm interested in personally.

Not in the same way I am. And it's not my first focus.

>>

not because he believes in global warming, or because he cares about the environment as much as you or I do, but because he wants to create jobs, which in turn make the economy better, which makes everyone have more money.

promoting clean energy will have the effect of reducing pollution, which decreases the rate of climate change.

do his means or reasons for making progress on climate it really matter as long as he is making progress on climate change?
