Rust or C?

What about safety?
Yeah.
>>57573136
I just said that because is a mandatory response.
OK then.
What are you trying to code in the first place?
>>57573136
The only safety rust provides is the safespace in the rust forums for sjw.

C with SDL.
It's a good start
C. Don't fall for memes.

Explain how Rust is a meme. If you use the term "SJW" in your explanation, your opinion will immediately be disregarded.
everyone should be familiar with c
start there, and expand once you are comfortable

It's systems programming with the awfulness of web development. To get random numbers I have to download 400 MB from Github. Reading the documentation, I got this web vibe where everything needs to be "amazing" and "game changing". Type classes (or whatever they are called) are cool, the borrow checker a lot of work to get used to but probably fine after using it for longer than I did.

Is it really that bad?

explain this statement in more detail

it's up to you to make it safe.
Believing that rust will make your code safe is a bad thing because you are going to overlook things thinking that it will just work

This 100%, Rust safety is only "easier" because it's built into the compiler, in C/C++ you have to use Valgrind after your program is compiled. But there are no new safety features in Rust that weren't already there in C/C++ with the right tools.
I was really excited about rust until I realized I literally have no use for it. and then i went back to using Java and Angular at work and working on my Python side project at home.
