Nobody thought WCD was the best shit ever because it had lots of music (although it did). What was great about WCD was that it had every version of every release (even vinyl rips) and a lot of rare stuff that nobody really cared about outside of WCD. And that's not even talking about the collages... so much amazing info and community lost. I'm worried about PTP and BTN now.

really, the whole music pirating community should be blamed for not having a decent what.cd alternative. they put all their eggs in one basket knowing full when it'd be a disaster if the site failed. such a colossus waste of time and effort in building collages, artist pages, obscure uploads, etc, if you don't divide/back it up that up between multiple sites.

at least with BTN/PTP/BiB there are somewhat decent alternatives - though people should really start investing some time in MTV now even if they already have a BTN account.

We're "re-doing" the validation process, this will quickly and effectively cull the numbers and trust will be regained in the community. This is the most effective method.
