What is more important overall,
free software or video games?

Free software.
Video games are a childish habit that should be supplanted with constructive activities such as reading, learning a trade, or exercise.

>this is what retards actually believe
>>57531168
Why not take the middle road and only play free as in freedom vidya?
>>57531179
Normalfag, please leave.

And why are you here?
Shouldn't you being doing one of those things?
Your quality of life. Your peace. Your comfyness.
I used to use only free software until I realized nobody give a fuck of what do I use except me, and that I was only making my life miserable by trying to do the same things I used to do with closed source software but with more bugs and time wasted.

>free software
When you grow up
>or video games?
Whrn you are teen
>>57531179
I tried to do this.
>gave up video games
>learned programming
>software dev jobs all suck
>everyone is retarded and you're basically cranking out CRUD webshit all day
>start writing video games in my free time
you can't escape vidya

You can have free as in freedom games.
This topic truly bothers me. I actually feel bad when I play, as I feel like I'm wasting my time. Why do people enjoy productive activities such as exercise or reading? Why the fuck do I enjoy being in front of a screen for days? I was going to start dwarf fortress but I feel remorse about the time I would invest.
Okay I took it out thanks

You better not watch TV either, and why is reading better than either games or TV if it's for entertainment? Reading most genres is just as unproductive as playing games or watching TV. At least games are interactive.
why not both?
all cracked games are devoid of botnet and free.

Compare someone who reads books in their spare time to someone who "frags noobs" in their spare time.
The literature fan will actually be interesting to talk to.

>but shitposting on 4chan is actually fine
>>57531448
Not him, but
>watching TV for entertainment
>literally watching what other people tell you to
>>57531448
>He reads fiction instead of objectively superior non-fiction such as history or philosophy
>>57532853
why not both
Video games. I don't really give a shit if software is free as long as it lets me do what I want.
Linux can't do it.

Free software. Most video games won't even run properly on a low-end computers, or even a high-end computer with the wrong operating system. Not to mention games are basically planned obsolescence personified; I have some games from 20 years ago that won't run at all anymore, but free software that's twice as old still runs just fine.
