There is a general for so many things on /g/ but we don't have one for mouses. Let's make it a thing. For now we won't have a nice post with buyers guide and shit, but we can work on one.

What are some mouse recommendations?

Feel free to ask questions!

Cute b8
>>
Is Corsair incapable of making a mouse with a rational shape? Everything they make looks like it's horrendous to hold
>>
>>57491412

It changes your DPI while held down. It's much faster and easier than using a DPI up and down button on the fly while in the middle of a gun fight.

I use a relatively high DPI for FPS games, 1800. But when it comes to making distance shots or moving targets at some range, 1800 is way too high and makes you overshoot your target.

So I could be using 1800 normally with a 500 on the sniper button for when it's needed.
>>
>>57491469
>looks like

Try using something before commenting on its shape. Half the mice I love were shapes that I thought would suck before using them.
>>
>>57491516
I've used the M65, which everyone says is their "safest" shape. I have no interest in the mouse with the phone dialpad on the left, and their new mouse has a very rigid set of DPI it can be set to. From everything I can gather they may as well be rebranding some cheap china OEM shit compared to brands like Steelseries or even Razer.
>>
>>57491504
Ah I see thanks for explaining. Seems like a pretty good feature, could come in handy.
>>
>>57491469
I use an m65, its okay as far as comfort. The right side has the pointy bit that isn't connected to the side of the mouse for some reason

Got a G502 recently, and I don't think I can ever go back to other 'regular' mice. I have huge hands, and this is the first mouse I don't need to fingertip all the time, and can occasionally palm. All of the extra frills and buttons are also great. Being able to bind stuff like music player controls, browser hotkeys and even some commonly used shortcuts on some other programs, while still having room left for more stuff because of G-Shift, is just too good. I was worried this would be a meme mouse, but it really is great.

Shoutout to all my G502 homies.
G500 lasted me almost 3 years before most buttons would barely respond. G502 is definitely an improvement in all aspects except maybe for its looks, then again I use my mouse to click and not something to stare at, and if the trade off is the mouse being comfy and extra buttons being actually useful, I'd take ugly any day.

Dusty G500, been in my vault for nearly a year now.

>>

The G502 is a good choice then?

>>57495123
Lol Razer shit doesn't even last a year, more like 6 months.
>>
>>57495214
Yes but only if you actually take advantage of what you're paying for.
I switch DPI between games on the fly, I'm actually using the extra buttons all day, I can't live without the infinite scroll wheel mode which the G500 spoiled me, profile switching is something that I don't make much use of but it's definitely handy.

Other than that, if all you're looking for is the sensor it comes with, just take a look at other cheaper mice with the same one.
>>
>>57495078

I too have a g500s, its amazing and I could never live without the voice button.
>>
>>57495214
>The G502 is a good choice then?
What are you looking for in a mice? If you want it mainly for games, then there are better choices if you just play FPS or MMOs, but for general use and general gaming genres, the G502 is amazing. After you get used to it and all of its extra features, it's really hard to go back to other mice. The infinite scroll wheel, the left and right scroll wheel buttons, the two extra easily accessible buttons on the left of LMB, and then the fact that you can add a modifier button that doubles the amount of stuff you can do with it, is just too good, and are things I personally haven't found in any other mice yet.
>>

yikes i dont fucking undestand why anyone in their right mind would get this MAD CATZ tier XTREEM gamer design mouse, this looks like something an 11 year old elite gamer would buy to impress his friends on call of duty

you do understand that its hilarious and ruins the look of everything else on your desk that you pair with it

fucking additional buttons ON THE LEFT MOUSE BUTTON? good luck with pressing those consistently in an fps game like quake, instead of using your thumb like a normal human being

my question is WHY when there are so many decent new mice from logitech you could pick, g303 being one of them inb4 waah i dont like the grip because i place my whole palm on it
>>
>>57496059
This list is based on sensor performance first! Deathadder's have had the best sensor for quite a while. Some would still argue deathadder sensor is as good as the 3366/3360
>>
>>57496114
>ruins the look of everything else on your desk that you pair with it
>waah i dont like the grip because i place my whole palm on it

it's funny to me that you claim kids buy these to impress people with the style while it's YOU who cares about the goddamn aesthetics more than the practicality.

let me explain it to you: those of use who don't have their mouth filled with semen right now, want a mouse that's comfortable and accurate. we don't care about gaymer LED's or extra buttons as long as they don't compromise the use of the mouse.

now fuck off to /fa/, you faggot.
>>
>>57496199

love how you cherrypicked me saying the looks are bad but ignoring the thing about the buttons

never mind that its fucking huge and awkward to move with that wing
you say you dont want extra buttons or gaymer design but thats what you have surprise surprise

It's 2016 now, and the best game You could think of?

>good luck pressing those consistently
I have used the g303 and g502 in games not only in the FPS genre, but also in RTS, MoBAs, MMOs and more, never did I 'misclick' a button, I'm not stupid not to remember the locations and I have muscle memory you fucking mongoloid Pajeet and it can be used beyond your vidya gayms.. You can even disable the macros if it bothers you so much, it has internal memory so you don't need to load the software every time.

>this looks like something an 11 year old elite gamer would buy to impress his friends on call of duty
So basically, buying a mouse that doesn't have macros, extra buttons or aesthetic features is considered to be childish or for kids? Do you even yourself you faggot? You honestly give a shit on the opinions of other people rather than finding a mouse that suits your needs. You basically need approval from an online community and the need to prove yourself to be mature, at least those kids are showing it off to their friends.

go drink chlorox you shit skinned mongoloid

Whatever floats your boat.

I'm sure there are plenty of better ergonomic keyboards, but this is what HR ordered for me and it's far better than the standard Apple + Numpad keyboard.

I'd prefer an ErgoDox for work, but they won't pay for that. I'd rather have an okay ergo keyboard than the Apple keyboard, especially when typing all day is part of my job and typing all night is part of my hobby.

The G303 has amazing buttons and one of the best sensors you can get, but the shell sucks. It's uncomfortable as all hell. I want the G Pro for that reason, same innards, better shell.
>>
>>57500536
Yea I get ya man, just because it looks bad doesn't mean it can't work well.

>G Pro
Which?
>>
>>57500551
It isn't as much about the appearance as the comfort. The G303 has angles in the weirdest places, there's never really a great grip for it. I prefer a hybrid fingertip/claw grip, and there are still angles cutting into my hand.

I'm talking about the literal Logitech G Pro, they call it their "pro FPS mouse." Get past the edginess and you've got a great mouse.

I got it as a replacement for my deaded G9 and I was very surprised to find that my palm does not touch the back as much as I thought. It's the same shape as G500 type but it's a little shorter and a little thinner so it doesn't force itself into a palm grip.

tl;dr I went through 6-7 mice trying to find a replacement for my beloved G9 and this is the closest thing I've found. My hand sits on it the same way that I hybrid claw-palm grip a G9.

I've been using a Steelseries Rival 300 for about a year now but the rubber grip has worn out and the scrolling wheel is bust (slamming the mouse into the table is not a good idea).

Overall I like the Mouse so I'm considering just getting another one. Is there any other good alternatives? I've looked at the Rival 700 but the gimmicks doesn't really seem to add a lot, and it's a bit tinier which is a shame. I pretty much only play CSGO on a very low sens so lift off distance has to be low.

why reinvent the wheel again... touch is cool, the Logitech T400 is absolutely awesome, but in the long run the missing wheel becomes a problem. either through missing drivers, OS updates or just the asthetics.

I primarily use it for games.

>>
>>57490380
I got a MLT04 (WMO 1.1a). I haven't opened it and figure out if it's actually legit, but I have mixed feelings about it.

The negative acceleration is pretty fucking horrid on the WMO 1.1a, and I've heard it's quite bad with the IME 3.0 as well. I pushed the polling rate to 500hz (I've pushed it up as far as 1000hz, 500hz is just as noticeable as 1000hz) and the negative acceleration is still present and the mouse is basically unusable when you flick with it. The sensor is pretty good if you're moving under 1.3 m/s though, the negative acceleration engages very quickly once you start to move the cursor remotely fast. It's highly inconsistent with W8.1 and W10 and it constantly disconnects while I play Quake. I've always preferred the G100s as the poor man's gaymen mouse, but since I got the WMO for free it's justifiable I suppose.

MX Master owner here.
It's pretty heavy, and kind of tall.
I've heard reports of its Bluetooth connection being a piece of shit, but it has no issues with the included Unifying adapter.
I've also heard reports of the scroll wheel failing rather quickly. Mine's roughly one year old though, and the scroll wheel shows no signs of having any issues. Maybe I got lucky or maybe there were a bad batch at some point. I don't know.
The forward/back buttons are awkwardly placed and take some getting used to at first. It's not so bad after a while.
Build quality overall feels very good. The rubber grip is great, and all the buttons are nice and clicky. Best scroll wheel I've ever used on all accounts.
Battery life is alright. It's not extremely impressive like that one other mouse Logitech is proud of, but I do get roughly 1 week of average 12-16-ish hours of use every day, and when it dies it's just a matter of plugging in a USB cable for a couple hours.
I expected to be missing some cutomizability coming from a gayming mouse (Roccat Kone XTD), but the MX Master has all of the button remapping and sensitivity/DPI switching I could want. That was a pleasant surprise.
Speaking of gayming mice though, this one probably doesn't have "muh perfect sensor" if you're into that stuff. It also doesn't have any tracking issues on my glass mousepad though, so who care.

TL;DR: Great mouse. May be a bit too tall and heavy for your liking.

Still using my 4 years old G600.
Are these chink 20 button mouses any good?
>>
Cheapest perfect sensor mouse that doesn't feel like a cheap plastic thing?

Got a Rapoo VPRO V900 now but it can't keep up with Osu!, my old Microsoft WMO 1.1a does better but the pads disappeared somewhere...

you should consider spending less time at the computer, your health will appreciate it

Think I'm going with the ducky secret rgb. I'll report back after a few months
>>
Are there any mice with perfect sensors for under $50? I don't need any fancy features like a DPI button or "muh mmo" million button mice.
>>
Suggest me a mouse /g/, I'm leaning towards naos/castor, but I have big hands, and mostly using fingertip grip, so I am really wondering if it will be comfy
>>
>>57506468
>I've never had a mouse with an adjustable polling rate, what the hell does that even do?

Are you fucking serious. You've never had a mouse that can do 125Hz, 500Hz or 1000Hz?
>>
Why does DPI go so high on mouses? Do people actively use a mouse purely by the tiniest of twitches or is it just to have a higher number than their competitors?
>>
>>57511671
Should've worded that better. I don't use the shitty gaymen software that comes with most of these mice.
>>
>>57492313
Can you change the DPI on that one? I have a xornet 1 but it's failing. With this one the 3 settings are locked and there's no software for it
>>
>>57511690
If you play something like CSGO, you get more control by using insane DPI and turning down ingame sensitivity.
Its the same reason some FPS pros do full 1 meter motions with their arms, to get the same effect on 600dpi mice.
>>
I have the mouse in OP. It's actually pretty decent, especially for the price. Works consistently, and it's well designed both functionally and aesthetically. It's a little heavy towards the near end, but I still recommend it.
>>
>>57511831
Most people who play CSGO play low sens and low DPI.
>>
>>57511975
Most people who play CSGO are tech illiterate retards that think turning down Anisotropic Filtering and Texture Quality will give them 300+ FPS.

My 1st Gen Xornet is starting to malfunction. Can anyone recommend a nice hybrid grip, optical mouse with a similar shape? Preferably for less than 40 bucks, kinda small and lightweight, no need for fancy extra buttons or whatever gimmicky stuff.
>>
>>57512323
p.s. forgot to mention that I don't want the Xornet II for the reasons at the end of my post. I'm fine with just three buttons.

I have enjoyed mine greatly. You can get other very good mice for cheaper but if you're considering spending this much on a mouse you won't be disappointed with the g900.

What happened to etekcity s200's? I bought one for 10$ and it worked amazingly, but I wanted to buy one for my sister and they don't make them anymore? Why is this? Anywhere I could find one?

I hope somebody here can help me

I used a Logitech G3 for 8 years before it stopped working(huge waterleak damaged a bunch of equipment).

I replaced it with a Roccat Kiro but It's just not the same. I only need 1 sidebutton on the left and 1 on the right. Also preferably the same design. Can't find the G3 anywhere anymore.
>>
Funny thing about mice.... The chinktastic ones are now better and much cheaper than the big brand ones.
>>
>>57503201
That's a big artichoke
>>
>>57512962
>he hasn't realized that the chinkshit mice are literally made in the same factory and are usually factory 2nds/B stock
>>
>>57508646
I'm so fearful of the day mine dies, there is no other mouse that feels comfortable anymore. All others are inferior, fucking logitech not wanting to reboot best mouse shape.
>>
>>57507846
No, it's a happy orca, stop being so lewd
>>
>>57495757
Got one on clearance at Staples once they stopped making them.

Literally the best mouse.

Opinions on vertical mice?
My wrist is kinda fucked.
>>
>>57514669
with a cushion pad you can get your arm raised enough to grab the mouse comfortable at an angle.
Though, that probaly isn't comfortable for vydia.
>>
>>57509986
I have one. The on-the-fly speed changing is amazing. The cuntloads of buttons are great for vidya. Durable, too.
