They are better than nothing in that case I guess, since the gaping vulnerabilities will never get fixed because >no updates.

I like the BitDefender one because it immediately checks whatever new app is installed, not just from the Play store.

And aside from that, it's very hands-off. Can do a scan, including storage, on-demand.
