Tell me what mp3 player to buy. Currently rocking a 30GB iPod fat but I need more memory and the battery on it is cack. I want something that'll have a battery life of at least a day.
I don't care about video or any wank like that. Just shuffle functionality and an easy interface for transferring files from my PC.

galaxy s2/3/4/5
or
lg g3/4
with a Zerolemon battery
and an sd card

in flight mode
>>
>>57463857
I already have a phone though. The reason I don't want to use it for music is because I want to preserve its battery life.
>>
>>57463805

you can buy an adapter that lets you replace the hardrive with a CF or SD card of any size...

i love my ipod 4g 30gb but its showing its age.... it sounds like mushy shit compared to my iphone 6. Digital Filters Have come a loooong way

Look into a fio -
>>
>>57463805
ruizo x5 is nice/loud/cheap 20usd/ nice battery/sd
but
fucks up most of ogg
i don't know why, they don't even support officialy ogg.
FLAC is always working thou
>>
>>57463880
as a separate device, a dedicated mp3 player
with a super high capacity battery
in flight mode
with the screen off almost all the time
>>
>>57463925
FiiO looks good, but they're pretty expensive and the battery life doesn't seem that great.
>>
>>57464053
Seems like they have problems playing an entire library if it's over a certain number of tracks too.

I have Benjie and i am very happy with it. Playing all FLAC i have, even 32bits, up to 70hrs of playtime and OLED.

>le music playback destroys battery life meme
Is it 2008?
>>
>>57463880
unless you're playing 24-bit tracks (which would be redundant) music playback really won't make that much of a difference in your battery life.

why would you want to carry two devices around when you can carry one?
>>
>>57464153
What's the capacity on a benjie? XDuoo X3 has crap battery life apparently.
>>
>>57464153

fucking kek
>>
>>57464218
you can stick your microsd in. Internal 8gibs, tf up to 64 gibs
>>
>>57464228
>thinking earbuds can't play good

step aside mate
>>
>>57464238
Not bad. Is there any limit on how many tracks it can play in a playlist? I tend to just stick it on shuffle and go through songs. Some players I've seen today have had trouble dealing with a number of songs in the high thousands.
>>
>>57464252
they can play fine, it's you thinking that you can tell the difference between the quality you're listening to and anything above 320kbs CBR
>>
>>57464258
Right after sticking your microsd and accessing it, it will ask you to create list. Like... 1200 songs... no problem
>>
>>57464276
>2017 - 2 months
>"You can't hear THE DUFFERENS MEME"
>>
>>57464277
I'm gonna want to play over 4000. If I were using the max capacity then I'd have about 7000 songs.
>>
>>57464284
Can you though?
>>
>>57464404
I can hear difference in 8bit and 16bit FLAC, but 16< i can't.
>>
>>57464419
I tend to use mp3 anyway. Anything 192+ sounds fine to me.
>>
>>57463805
Used htc one m7 / one m8.

Good screens
Good batteries
GOAT DACs
GOAT stereo front facing speakers
GOAT build quality
Micro SD card support

You'd be stupid not to get either.

iPod classic, 160gb.

It's awesome, but I'm considering moving onto whatever model of fiio player accepts two microSD cards. The thought of having such an obscene amount of storage available to me is appealing.

Samsung Galaxy S 4 is what I use.

Why they fuck do you need to preserve battery life.

If were adding shit to our bag I'd just suggest THE CHARGER.

Nice meme my friend do you mind if I save it? =)

Lg g3 has the worst headphone jack i have ever used

do not buy for music
>>
>>57465216

Just how shitty is your phone that you have to worry about shit like that? Shit dude, even my droid razr from like 5 years ago can do constant playback for like 12 hours so long as I keep the screen off, and I've never replaced its battery since it's pretty much impossible to. Your deep sleep meme probably only accounts for like 2hrs of battery of my own battery life, at most.
>>
>>57465216

Modern phones have extremely long battery lives just playing music because of hardware decoding. A typical phone with a 3,000 mAh battery will literally last you over 3 days if not more of non-stop music playback.

Don't take my word for it, play your favorite shitty music band on loop with earbuds connected with your phone screen turned off and on airplane mode, come back 8 hours later and see the battery drained by like 10%.

PMPs are ultra memes now.
>>
Any of the FiiO players are a good choice.Tthe M3 is $50 with 8gb internal and can take a Micro SD card up to 200gb. It can probably use 256 fine too but the price doubles if you jump from 200gb to 256gb.
>>
The best MP3 player out there right now is definitely the moto e. You can find it for like $40 and has like 40+ hours of music playback.
>>
I got a Zune for this exact reason. I own 3 of them now. Solid battery life, best sound quality I've personally heard in an mp3 player. Some people might shit on it, but they can be found cheap on ebay or CL, parts are cheap and repairs are pretty straightforward if you have to do them.
>>
>>57463805
i have this one and it alright. $30> on amazon. only 8 gb but expandable with sd card

Shanling M2, FiiO X3II or xDuoo X3 if you can deal with the software.
Shanling M1 if you want something portable.

Pic related, M2
>>
Can confirm PMPs are a waste of money in 2016.
Especially since pretty much all flagships have good headphone output, especially iPhones, and the LG's with the ESS DACs.
>>
Get an iPod 5g with the quad micro SD adapter and an extended battery. It's awesome
>>
>>57465199
Battery life seems shorter than other stuff on the market and I've heard that their players, despite the stupid amount of storage space, only support playlists of up to 4000 tracks or something.

Yeah, skipping songs also causes the battery to drain really fast on mine.

This looks alright.
>>
>>57469101
That seriously does. I'd like a good 32+ GB player for songs that doesn't use a hard drive.
>>
>>57468709
I don't really like Apple stuff. I'm only using an ipod at the moment because I accidentally put my old MP3 player in the washing machine and it was a spare one my sister had and wasn't using.
I don't want to have to use itunes or crap like that really.

Too small. I want at least 64GB.
>>
>>57463805
Simply replace the battery with a kitset bought online. Maybe 15 minutes of your valuable time.
>>
>>57469539
I need more storage space as well now, otherwise I might just replace the battery.
>>
>>57467713
Noted for future reference.
>>
>>57468994
They removed that limit in a FW upgrade like 2 years ago.

Unrelated, but are you really going to 4000 songs into a playlist? I don't even have a single playlist on my X5.
>>
>>57470751
I just shuffle my entire library.
