Long story short, I need to replace shit (or at least not as good) programs on a university-provided laptop running Windows 10 Education. No, I can't replace it with Linux (yet). The main thing I'm worried about is getting rid of memory and CPU usage bloat and having less shit running in the background (although privacy is always a plus), so I used the wiki page as a starting point. So far...
Replaced:
>ms outlook with Thunderbird
>music player with foobar2000
>photo viewer with ImageGlass 3.5
>video player with mpv
>browser with Firefox
>torrent client with Halite
>pdf viewer with SumatraPDF
In the process of replacing:
>Mcafee with Malwarebytes
>MS Office Suite with the LibreOffice Suite
Also using:
>7zip
>KeePassX
>Notepad++
>Visual Studio
>Git/TortoiseGit
>GIMP
>Shotcut
>Audacity
>Tor Browser
>Mumble
>OBS
>Unity
>UnrealEngine
How am I doing so far?
What should I replace DAEMON Tools Lite with?
I'm fine using GIMP for bigger projects, but any better alternative to MS Paint for smaller stuff?
What should I use for defrag?
Do you guys recommend I use something like Kodi?
What about "Everything"? https://www.voidtools.com/faq/
Any advice on getting rid of IE, Edge, their default apps, and other useless MS shit?
Any other recommendations?

Done.

Are Defraggler, MyDefrag, or any other alt better or faster in anyway?

Trying to avoid this for now. If there is absolutely no way to remove them, I guess I'll have to deal, but if there is some method to remove at least some of them, I'd be satisfied even just with that.

is there much difference besides the GUI? All I really need is a music player, no more no less.

I don't know since I never used foobar
I'm just being elitist because musicbee is exclusive to windows

If you understand how malware and opersting systems work, you don't need an antivirus. You just need to know how to set up a firewall, user privileges and virtual machines.
