Sounds about right.
A computer scientist is not the same as a system administrator or a IT help desk monkey.
One day you may learn this.
>computer scientist
>everybody expects you to fix their computer
>>57463170
>fix their shit in my free time
>charge for it
And that's how I get my /csg/ allowance.
>>57463190
I want to do this on the side, wish I knew people that needed there shit fixed.

Same here, and I get a lot of "job" too because I don't charge 500 bucks to delete a virus from a computer and bloat it with mcaffee like geeksquad does, most of the time I get shit done while the customer watches me work.
My only policy is no apple anything, I had 8 different niggas asking me to unlock their iphones because "i accidentally reported the phone as stolen because i lost it for about an hour and then found it but i cant go to apple and unlock it because i already threw away the box and warranty but the phone is totes mine are you implying I stole it don't be raciss' mane ooga booga we wuz kangs"

>*discipline* engineer
>expected to fix absolutely anything
The amount of times I've heard "you're an engineer, can't you fix it?"
NOT IF ITS A FUCKING TURBINE JET ENGINE WHEN I'M AN ELECTRONIC ENGINEER YOU ASSBAG
Hats off especially to those assholes who say "oh so you fix boilers then" in response to my degree. Didn't really study for years to whack a boiler with a spanner and collect a bag of marbles for my salary.
