It's a gesture based mobile OS for phones and tablets. There are guides online for porting it.

sailfish or cyanogenmod?
>>
>>57436905
Sailfish. Cyanogenmod is Android.
>>
what devices support it?
>>
Be cool if I could put this shit on my Galaxy Note 10.1 2014

That thing I don't use frequently.
>>
Looks absolutely terrible.
>>
Sailfish still exists?
>>
>>57436779
Yes.
>>

>There are guides online for porting it.
I tried to port it on my phone. Couldn't do it.
>tfw when too stupid to do interesting things

>>57436779
Didn't mind the OS when I tried it, but the fact that Jolla fucked me over with the tablet left me with a sour taste in the mouth.
>>
>>57436779
I tried installing a port on an old xperia mini I had laying around, it didn't work. I'd have loved to try it out though.
>>
>>57438893
This. Fuck Jolla.
>>
>>57436779
Just tried it on an old Nexus 5 I had laying around. It leaves a lot to be desired and lacks support for common standards (eg. WPA Enterprise Wi-Fi)
>>
Shitposting from it right now in my car.
>>
>>57436779
yup, bought aqua fish
>>
>>57436779
I used it for some time, it's surprisingly fast and responsive for its outdated hardware, too bad Jolla are fucking kikes.
Currently trying an Ubuntu Phone (aquaris bq e5 hd or some shit like that), the os seems nice but they fucked up by giving it only 1GB RAM, poor thing is swapping all the time which of course causes hiccups.
I'd love to see it running on good hardware, though.

>>
how do i do this?
>>
>>57436779
no its autismal
>>
Somebody started porting it on my phone, but dropped it - and he didn't even make a release.

Can somebody who's an complete amateur in the android dev scene manage to port it to his phone? Also, there are official CM builds for my phone, that would probably make things easier.
>>
>>57442412
Sailfish is literally autism: the phone OS, just save the time to get CM if your stock rom is bloated shit
>>
>>57442440
Yeah, I'm already using it. Ruined my camera a bit, but I'm really fucking satisfied with the result.

I had a bad experience with CM7.2 back in the day, so I avoided using CM for a while with my new phone.
>>
Anyone tried the moto g 2013 port?
>>
>>57442412
Yes, but as of now it is going to be a pretty big undertaking/learning experience. They have a guide that goes over the steps and how to use already existing CM build of the target phone to get the device specific drivers functioning

>>
>>57436779
Used it for two years. Stock applications aren't great, and sailfish 2.0 was a step backwards.

I've tried pretty much every mobile OS. The only one that was remotely polished outside of Android and iOS was WebOS. Which is dead as a doorknob.

I just use an iPhone 6s now.
>>
>>57442565
Will I need loads of free space (in the ballpark of >50 GB) for compiling and shit?
>>
>>57442609
The pdf is saying at least 16GB, but more is better if you want that shit part (ccaching for faster builds in the future and such)
>>
What about the Fairphone 2? Wasn't it supposed to support Sailfish and/or Ubuntu Touch?
Although I recognise don't giving a shit about fair minerals and all.

Anyone know how we can hack aliendalvik so that Android apps can be installed on third party ports? Myriad are a bunch of fucking jews and won't license to individual users, even though I offered to pay for 10 devices for personal use. If they won't sell it, I'll steal it.

To those who don't know what aliendalvik is, it's a piece of proprietary software that allows the native installation of apk files. Without it, Sailfish is limited to their own apps on stuff like the Nexus 5.
