Remember when computer reference books were a thing.

I'm 12 and what is this?
They still exist, they're just not as prevalent since you can either find the info built into the OS documentation or on the internet.
Paying the physical markup for a book that conveys the same information you can get from a webpage for free is retarded, unless for some reason you're trapped without internet but somehow also have access to a bookstore/library that stocks the relevant volumes.
man man

a lot of people hate reading books on computers (laptops, tablets, ebook readers, etc)

I understand the tactile sensation, but my guess is that OP is saying that getting books for reference of computer information is somehow superior, despite the fact that most books on the subject will either be hilariously out of date or expensive compared to other sources.
Hell, I've got a shelf with some old shell script books and Unix manuals, but I haven't bothered to read them in years because I can find all the info I need with a quick online search.
Ooh! I 'member!

physical books aren't really for quick reference, but actually reading the whole book. if you just need a quick reference you just read the manpage or search for some keyword in some document, but if you want to learn about something you read the whole book which is annoying to do on computers
I like big fat books.
