Nvidia 480 and amd 295x.
What's the point of this thread?

my R9 390 heats it just nicely.

My 7950 was fucking cool and quiet. Considering the 280x is a rebranded 7970GE, I fail to see how its not your fault.
Have you tried using a decent case/cleaning out the case + blowing out the dust from the GPU?
>>
Daily reminder that fans and cooling have zero effect on the amount of heat being generated inside your computer
>>
R9 390, they are the best thing to mine ethereum on. This means your heater can sort of pay for itself if electricity is cheap where you live. My parents run a setup with 12 of them to heat their house

True, but you CAN dissipate the heat better if its spread out more evenly.
>>
>>57432552
Who designed this piece of garbage?

why do you cool your gpu before your cpu? logic should dictate that you'd want to cool the lower temp hardware first.

Why do you dump your money into this overbuilt setup and then turn it into a toaster for your hardware?
>>
>>57434912
hope this isn't bait. A closed loop will evenly distribute heat so it won't matter.

But probably 295x.

Correct

Daily reminder that your an retard if you think this means you don't need fans to cool hot components
>>
>>57432552
Literally, false.
If heat is spread out evenly, it is already dissipated.
Heat dissipates most readily across a large Δt.

Did you want to say that spreading thermal energy effectively dissipates it?

Nigger, what?

If the GPU is putting out 100W of heat it will do so regardless of whether it is at 40C or 100C. The only difference is how efficiently that heat is getting transferred from the GPU to the air.

Space heaters don't print money though
>>
>>57439100
It will actually make the room warmer. Do you into physics?
>>
>>57439090
Well if gpu gets overheated it starts throttling and thus produces actually less heat. Although high temperature also makes the efficiency worse so it evens it a little. I dunno rly. Im no EE.
>>
>>57440342
Yes but not really, the hotter a materiel the less conductive it is, so the more energy is wasted as heat.
A gpu @100° will generate more heat than the same @50°
>>
>>57435475
Btw, I've never had water cooling systems but in what kind of temperatures the coolant is under load situations? Obviously there will be rise in temperature of the coolant when it passes hot objects in the loop. But you are just saying it's not a markable difference, right?
>>
>>57439864
how do you call them?
>>
>>57427841
Really none. Even a very power hungry computer, like a Titan X dual socket 2011 machine, will not heat up your room significantly.

1080 Performance lol no.

I have a 290x and its amazing but not that amazing.
>>
I use 2 hd7970 ghz edition cards with a i5 3570k @ 4.7ghz.
Heats for about 500-700w.
Also BOINC is nice when you need heat and have no real others use for your gpu at the moment.

delta temperature in custom loops never goes higher than 5 degree celsius

I prefer to bundle up and rely on my own body heat, then it's like, "I made this warmth."
>>
In my experience a 7950 boost can overpower any window air conditioned.
>>
The tv I use as a monitor heats my room better than my gpu ever could. 40 degrees outside and I''m burning up.

I've always wanted a kotatsu but idk how I will shitpost with it. Surely you don't put monitors on the kotatsu do you?
