Microsoft Outlook is the absolute best piece of mail software, developed by the geniuses over at Microsoft. K-9 is an shitty, unsecure app hacked-together by an complete security amateur. Honestly, who do you believe - a giant company with decades of experience, or a random lad on the internet?

I was just pulling your leg; K-9 is a solid app. You can use encryption (OpenPGP) if you download a seperate app from F-Droid, too.

I haven't used it to its' full potential so I can't testify, but go ahead and try it; what's the worst that could happen?
FYI, I used it with a mail provider from my country; I don't know how capable it is with gMail.
