I start tomorrow. I'm just super nervous I'm going to screw it up or be given something I have no idea how to do. Does anybody have any advice about how to succeed at your first programming job?
I'm a junior developer doing Java.

Wait those programming bootcamps actually work??

It depends on which one you go to.
I went to one of the best in the US.

keep a low profile while you get to know everyone and learn the status quo. don't fuck around with your phone on working hours and never show up late for no reason. do what you know and you'll be fine, bro. best of luck!

Thanks man!
I'm trying to keep a low profile.

Which one?
Expect to feel incompetent/useless for the first several months as you get used to working in a collaborative environment and learn your codebase. Also spend a good amount of time understanding any comments made by your colleagues in code reviews, even ones you didn't submit.

I don't really know if I should say because I don't want to be a shill / it's small and they'll probably know who I am.

You know I want to talk shit but I've actually experienced that this is true. I found out one of the best programmers I ever met was dressing like a girl online for years and everyone on the community found out.
