This is probably old news, but Opera browser offers free and unlimited VPN and a native ad blocker, I just saw it and I wanted to have a second opinion before downloading this browser.
I personally have been using Chrome ever since it has been available, but, your thoughts?
>>57415710
I love Chrome though I understand the complaints of security and intrusion of data and information. My girlfriend prefers Opera due to it being reliable secure and stable, yet I stand with Chrome.
>>57415763
Yeah I know what you mean, Chrome has been my go-to browser for everything, but I saw the ad and it got me thinking
That free VPN and ad blocker tho, are those legit?
>>57415874
Yeah pretty much but of course you should be wary as usual when dealing with VPNs and such
>>57415945
this is my first post on /g/ so, would you care to please elaborate and help a bro out?
>>57415959
With VPNs you're basically trusting a private service with your data by allowing them to be able to respond back and forth with the impression that you will not be in the "mainstream" of the internet through the VPN. There are cases where VPNs have fucked over customers, but personally I haven't heard anything bad about Opera in terms of their VPN or adblock services.
>>57416144
thanks man, helped a lot, really
>>57415710
my browser is better than your browser (^:
Why does no one here seem to know about this?:
https://thatoneprivacysite.net/vpn-comparison-chart/
tl;dr:
>Based in Norway
>Logs everything including visited site requests (with timestamps) and IP addresses
>Cannot pay with cryptocurrency (e.g. Bitcoin)
>Uses third-party DNS servers
>No support for IPv6
>Uses third-party cookie(s)
>Multiple proprietary APIs in place
>No TLS/SSL Cert (!)
>No refunds
>etc
tl;dr tl;dr:
Enjoy your free and unlimited backdoor

The ad-block is shit. I use opera and is far better to use unlock origin. The built-in ad-block makes the browser slower.
>>57415710
Not an actual VPN, just a proxy.
>>57416412
>firefucks
>better than anything
lmao
>>57415710
Don't use Opera
It's now owned by the Chinese and on top of that its sync servers were hacked recently
>>57418968
but it only affects those who made an account on opera services
Opera can't play streams on Chaturbate and since VLC doesn't work anymore I need a browser so I stopped using it.
>>57419277
>Chaturbate
I have never heard of this site
also install gentoo
>>57415710
I stopped using it at update 50 cause it change a lot to go on blink engin (or old gtk?) I loos lot of think I loved with opera. I use Firefox since . Which I love but it's getting old but will change engine '' soon''.
I have lot of hope Vivaldi.
>>57419254
Fuck any leaks?
>>57419433
It's porn.
>>57419277
works for me on chaturbate
>>57419564
dunno
I haven't pay attention to it because it doesn't affect me but if nothing else, change all passwords or those that might have been compromised
>>57419584
>It's porn
stop watching it, you degenerative fuck
>>57419646
I have started use last pass so why not. And I didn't change since a long time. Thx dude
I used Opera the other day and it was quick and pretty good but I wish it had some more extensions. If it had HTTPS everywhere, Ghostery, and a few other extensions is might be a viable option for me, for now I will stick to Google Chrome.
>>57419716
Can't you just use Chrome extensions with it?
your not fooling netflix with that shit.
>>57419705
>last pass
no
You should have dedicated memory device for you passwords under encryption where you store your passwords into a text file
>>57416412
my 4chan X + custom oneechan theme is better than your pleb defaults
>>57419860
I know but I find it more comfy to do it like that. But I know I'm wrong
>>57419860
THIS
>>57419920
>storing your private information in the hands of a 3rd party over the internet is 'comfy'
Oh man, I love chrome because I like to be fucked in the ass and spied on. But free vpn from Opera sure looks tempting.
>>57419897
>anime
get rid of that then it would be better
functionality>looks
>>57415710
I tried opera for a couple days and it crashes far too often for me (a few times a day)
It also didn't support an html5 player I tried using and displayed youtube videos wrong
Which sucks because I want out of the chrome botnet
>>57420043
how is the anime grill less functionality?
4chan X adds way more functionality than being non-script cuck
the pic is my night theme which includes greyscale animu grill, im going to work on a daytime solarized theme without anime
>>57420075
>how is the anime grill less functionality?
it is useless and serves no use
you also miss this anon's >>57416412 the point
>>57420160
i like it there
also we're both using firefox, im just using the 4chan-x userscript

I just use an easily memorized cipher consisting of the site's name, a pound sign, the name of a pokemon from the pokedex, all rotated by 1 to 3 characters.
It looks like gibberish to anyone who doesn't know what's going on.
>>57420264
Hey this is a great idea, thanks. Do you use the same pokemon? If you don't, it'd be hard to remember all the different passwords if you lost your password file (if you even have one?). Have been looking for a solution like this for a while
>>57419719
Nope, I don't think so.
>>57416510
>midori
doesn't even work, support is terrible
