Have you used this hipster meme? Is it just hype or does it have any uses? Or is it just a botnet?
It's generally used in the wrong way for the wrong reasons.
But it's big and it will stay.
It's the new development tier package management, that's all there is to it. HN had some good threads on it.
I tried using it for my development environments at work, but it was too buggy on my (((windows enterprise))) system.

I use KVM in my work, so no. But the principal is amazing and here to stay.
The only use I've found is for quick prototyping on different frameworks like tensorflow without fucking around with a million packages.
That is it.

well meme'd, memer.
I ended up using Docker for containerizing all my media related services (sabnzbd, sickrage, couchpotato, emby, hydra, etc) on a fairly limiting busybox system.
It proved to be very useful when a few months later I decided to move everything over to different hardware running a different OS, and could just rsync over the folder containing configs and databases and spin up instances there in a few minutes. The internal networking is great for hooking together the daemons. Going to move nginx and SSL cert updating to containers over there too whenever I can be bothered getting around to it.
