Hey /spg/ I'm looking to get a 5" or preferably smaller (~4.7" is ideal) than that phone because I'm a handlet. I'm in America with T-Mobile. I have a slight preference for a physical homescreen button. I don't game, just some animu and mango reading.

Meizu M3s ~$140 - Haven't heard much about this phone.
Yota Phone 2 ~$140-$200 - Dual screen e-ink gimmick, the YD205 (and possibly YD201) seem compatible with bands
Zuk Z2 ~$250 - Seems like a decent phone

I looked at the Redmi 3s, but I remember reading awhile back about some weird issues with the phone not working properly?

My Galaxy S5 recently shit the bed after 2 years so I'm in the market for a new phone.

I'm in the US, planning to switch to T-Mobile. Specifically their $30/mo prepaid plan with 100min, unlimited texts, and 5GB of 4G LTE data.

I was planning to buy the OnePlus 3 but it sold out the day I was going to pull the trigger. Now I'm a little unsure with the 3t rumors and Black Friday coming up.

My budget is $500 USD or less, I would prefer to spend around $400 but I could stretch it to $600 if there is a significant improvement. Feel free to make suggestions, I will take anything into consideration.

Features:
-Supports 4G LTE on T-Mobile
-64GB internal storage or expandable storage
-USB Type-C (not absolutely necessary but preferred)
-Long battery life (subjective I know. I dont play games but I multitask pretty hard and stream a TON of video.)
-Charges quickly (obviously larger batteries take longer to charge)

I like the form factor of my S5 but I don't think I would mind the jump up to something like the OP3. Size isn't a huge deal but I wouldn't want anything really small.

The Snapdragon 821 is no reason to get the 80$ more expensive device.

But if it features a better camera (including OIS, which all new phones lack now), and a bigger battery, then it is enough for me to pay 80 more.

On the other hand you cannot use the awesome existing custom roms and tweaks anymore and have to wait whether there will be enough people out there who are willing to port those to the OP3T.

Main buying argument for an OP device is clearly the open bootloader, the easy rooting and the big active community.

I would assume a balance point is the point on the phone where if your hand is supporting it, the phone could tip either way. If the balance point isn't in line with the natural resting spot of the human hand on the phone, the phone will tip in unproductive directions under normal conditions. In other words, top heavy phones might tip out of your hands.

I haven't noticed an issue with this on the regular pixel, and I was commenting on how the glass panel actually makes it easier to hold in general, resolving another issue I've had with phones in the past.

I had the same problem with my Huawei Honor 8 so I got a transparent TPU for it.

It looked like shit within a day or two. Fingerprints everywhere, scratched to fuck because PLASTIC and tiny bits of dirt filled up everywhere VERY visibly. Completely destroyed the aesthetics of the phone.

The only acceptable solution I found was front + back glass protector and a fitting frame protector (if such a thing exists for s7 edge). It just survived a 1m surprise drop test the other day so it's working while the glass layer reflections are still perfectly visible.

Yes you can install apps from google play on your phone, but you dont need gapps/google play services on your phone at all, just get them from APKPure and get APK Track to update them without the store, now some apps "need" gapps to work, youtube for example, but thats what MicroG is for.

Are there any privacy/security issues with buying from low end manufacturers, like backdoors or spyware? I've read a few reports of malware being on Chinese phones bought from shady importers, but I'm also concerned about more subtle spyware preloaded on phones by the manufacturer.

I remember the Superfish issue from Lenovo a while back, and I'm wondering if you guys feel comfortable using Google services or storing private data on their devices. Also I've heard Huawei are not trusted by the US government because they are owned by the Chinese military?

Trying to use the seek bar on HD videos on Xhamster locks me phone up, crashes whatever system app handles the clock etc. at the top and the back/home/apps buttons at the bottom and slows it down so much I have to hold the power button down to reboot.

Well. Playing games or downloading anything at all is out of the way since I barely manage to have 100 mb for downloading without having to delete some less used apps. I mean using the phone ain't that bad. Anki works just fine. YouTube needs a moment to start playing videos smoothly and using something like messenger causes the music playing in the background to switch off. Snapchat Skype or anything like that wouldn't even work properly without the need to shut down just to free some ram. I mean it's a fine phone but I paid for this samshit about 300$ two years ago so it really wasn't that good of a deal. GPS and other services are fine. NFC should also work though I have never really used it.
